You are going about your normal (or not so normal) day when suddenly, right in front of you a translucent blue panel appears. In fancy swirling cursive, it says:

Which fades out to be replaced by two options: NEW GAME LOAD GAME “Load Game” is greyed out and you cannot select it (unless, of course, you are returning again). The panel also refuses to go away no matter what you do. Eventually, either because you’re fed up or an accident happens (maybe you trip while walking or gesture while talking). Regardless of how it happened, you end up pressing the ‘New Game’ button. Then the world goes dark. When you wake up you are in something like a cryogenic pod within a broken down, modern looking building in the middle of a lot of overgrown greenery. Before you can get your bearings another message pops up:

NEW QUEST!! Make it out of Gladsheim alive! Fight your way to safety! Labyrinthian is an panfandom roleplaying game with a focus on action and adventure, exploration and RPG elements, loosely based on the Etrian Odyssey game series. Characters arrive in a town full of NPCs connected to two labyrinths full of mystery, adventure and dangerous monsters. Work together to form guilds, fight monsters, complete quests and try not to lose your temper at the NPCs who keep repeating their stock phrases and forcing you to sit through tutorials and explanations without a SKIP button in sight. And of course, they must navigate another mainstay of RPGs: a job class system that gives them new abilities to replace their own (with a possibility of regaining a version of their powers later on). All this while you try to solve the mystery of the labyrinth...and hope that doing so will lead you to a way home.

eh why not, looking for a PB for Doomguy here. sci fi live action or other vidya preferred, looking for someone older, rugged, greying, angry and scrappy. military type, has an air of Seen Some Shit but could also be believable as a huge nerd that collects records, plays retro PC games and owns some sweet guitars. thinking along the lines of Josh Brolin as Cable in Deadpool 2, but from a less popular canon i guess. i never use this account outside of occasional bakerstreet memes but it'd be cool to have the option of taking off the Praetor suit and having more casual chit-chats in the future.

I can't shake the thought of a Toy Story AU. Everyone's a toy in some kid's house or a toy store or whatever. Maybe they're dumb like Buzz Lightyear and believe their canon memories actually happened, or maybe they get that they're just toys and they're chill with it. I don't know, this is a rough thought that I haven't actually sat down to work into a proper game premise. But would anyone else be interested?

So to recap the end of arc 1, Romani gives up his wish, returns to being Solomon, and then briefly appears as Romani again after using Ars Nova but before he disappears.

My question is, would it cause a stir to play Romani from that brief moment after Ars Nova? I'm basically looking to play him with all of his memories up to that point, but I don't want to play Solomon, and I dont want to play Romani with Solomon's powers.

Two soldiers, one an alpha and one an omega, on opposite sides of a conflict have built up a rivalry over the months/years, with neither consistently coming out on top and their fights often ending in draws. One day the omega goes into an early heat right before a major conflict, and his latest fight with the alpha ends with the two of them fucking.

I'll play either role. I prefer drawn PBs (but it's not a requirement) and characters that are at least 15, and I'm open to both canon and original characters. PM kusatta and we can talk kinks, setting, and which aspects of A/B/O we want to include!

What makes the mod?

DW's whole RP community and the anon comms in particular get a lot of criticism (and not always undeserved) for being pretty hard on mods. We're a fickle bunch, with pretty high standards. We can be demanding of the people who run games around here, but sometimes I think it's why some of the best rpers I've ever come across are still here. On the flip side it doesn't make being a mod here easy, or attractive. Even if there's always someone chiming into those harsh discussions to remind us they're just people, they're not getting paid for this, etc.

Every time a conversation devolves into that debate it makes me think about game rules and expectations. Most of the time game rules are just that— rules for players to follow in game. But I wonder if it would make anyone's life as a mod or a player easier if games offered up something similar for mods. Not rules necessarily but some kind of code of conduct. Things you can expect a mod team will try to abide by.

So my question is:

A. If you had to write the company handbook—a sort of moderators code of conduct—what would you most want to see in it?

Or if that question is too lofty, how about:

B. What's the best example you've seen of how a mod handled a situation? What effect did it achieve and why do you think it worked out for you or the game or anyone involved?

1. approach the player to explain the close CR and ask if they want to continue it

2. have your character acknowledge that they're a new version of their close CR and establish a whole new relationship from scratch

3. politely avoid the player and the character by not seeking our CR with them

and as an added question, would you want the new player to approach you or research the past CR with that character, if they know they've been in the game before?
