poops efficiently from the butt

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

right, like... there has been some antagonism recently, but this discussion is not antagonistic. people are talking about ideas for modding in the future. why interpret that as an attack? it's perfectly possible the players having this discussion are interested in becoming mods themselves someday and they want to consider what they would do. no one is beating mods up for not smiling all the time.

it's antagonistic because every time a former mod comes in to say this is a bad idea, OP is quick to dismiss their experiences as "well, you must have done something wrong" or "you didn't set good boundaries". they're invalidating people in the interest of helping and that's messed up.

The comment literally started with validation, then posed the idea that there is a community wide problem that might be addressed with x consideration.

and you think treating modding as if we're going to therapy is the right answer? this is going into deranged territory.

i had to parent up, catching this comment on flatview, because it's really wild.

and with the context, it's even wilder.

anon, setting boundaries and enforcing thme is not "modding as if we're going to therapry" or remotely closed to deranged. like did you just read some shit about the language used to describe healthy boundaries, mentally associated it with therapy, and just rolled with the first dumb correlation that came to your brain?

The fact that you think setting and establishing boundaries is deranged is really telling.

Dude, DWRP can use all the help setting boundaries.

This is a really good resource. How many issues have cropped up because people couldn't or didn't feel comfortable saying "I don't want to do this/don't like this"? How many people don't take "No" for an answer?

If we just focused on normalizing the first two alone it could vastly improve DWRP as a whole, let alone the community for mods.

people in this hobby have a huge issue respecting boundaries and treating people like they're people, especially towards mods

if you think what was suggested is deranged, then you have some real issues to work out, my dude

yeah, i'm going to agree with the above comments. who here is saying that dwrp is perfect towards mods? the thread in question began with multiple people acknowledging dwrp is too hard on mods. dwrp being too hard on mods is pretty much taken for granted in discussions nowadays. it's also notable that as harsh as people were in recent mod wanks, there are very very few mods that the community has argued should be completely prebanned from modding again. and even of those, no one can preban them from making new mod accounts or games. only someone higher up in dreamwidth can do that. people here are acknowledging blame on many sides as a community. the question would be why you hear this as deranged?
