Are there any games out there that allow fandom OCs that aren't MMO protagonists? I've been reading the Books of Raksura recently, and I'd really love to bring my OC from the series somewhere! No connection to canon characters, to avoid potential awkwardness.

I feel like since it's a novel I'm playing from I can get away with some canon inaccuracy, but I'd still like to at least try to find a PB that matches up with how he looks in canon regardless.

how about a meta game where characters are told that they are fictional and that they've been given physical forms for the purpose of entertaining or mollifying a population? they're free to disbelief it and rebel against the directive with all the ensuing consequences, or play along and find out the truth

i'm picturing a tech-y setting for this but it works just as well for fantasy or even magical realism/sol on the surface with darkness bubbling to the surface type of thing

I hope this is the right section and way to go about this. It's been literal years since I was last on Dreamwidth, so bear with me...

I want to RP Galo Thymos from Promare. Problem: even though I am aware of the pertinent plot details, I have yet to watch the actual movie. I've watched the Galo-hen prologue short (and Lio-hen, for that matter), but that's it. I've written a few practice stories to see if I could get his voice down (nothing in DW post format yet, but I can fix that quickly once I dig up prompts or something) in the meantime. Would someone be willing to assist me and see how close I am to getting him decently right? I can throw a sock account down for us to chat on if you'd like, if that's the procedure to follow.

New post went up while I was typing this pfffft....anyway. Kind of a long shot but I have this au I worked out with a friend that basically.... smooshes Noctis and Lucis into the fe3h setting and now I'm dying to do more with it, so I'm looking for fe3h folks who would be interested in crosscanon stuff with this guy here.

The tl;dr version is that Lucis kind of exists outside the main three nations in the same way as places like Sreng or Almyra and they don't necessarily get along or have much contact with one another (lucis has its own religious system apart from the church of seiros, and the three nations don't seem to get along with anybody else that much anyway). Noctis attends Garreg Mach as a guest of any of the three houses, maybe as a gesture of good faith to bridge gaps, maybe as part of treaty negotiations, similar to Petra but with less 'you're basically a political prisoner' overtones. He has his own 'crest' but doesn't really see it as a crest because that's not how Lucians.... think of it, really. There's more I'm happy to explain in greater detail but those are the basics.

Gen or shipping is fine, m/m or m/f, all good. Cross-cultural misunderstandings, religious differences, and just the general weirdness of being an outsider by the Church's standards are all things I'm down for, or like....politics, arranged marriage stuff, whatever, it's all great. I have a plurk but the best way to reach me is by pm, via which you're welcome to request my discord where I'm most active. I haven't finished Three Houses yet but I don't care about spoilers since I've already read most of them online!

if your game has a "x amount of time must pass after the initial release" rule, do you think it applies to a release like promares?
