i want to do a psl with my character ordering a psl

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

thinking about making a game with a very small character cap (24-36). characters would be put into teams of 3-4 and tasked with influencing a world by acting as a kind of pantheon of gods (i.e., one team = one god). there'd be progression based on some kind of score, and a plot, and i hope those would keep people interested - but i'm well aware that one or two people dragging their feet in a team situation can kill the rest of the team's drive, and i'd like to avoid that. any advice?

it sounds interesting! maybe it would help things feel like dependent on everyone reamining active if everyone got to be gods separately? make the teams like houses of gods or themed around common domains or something, so everyone can feel useful individually but still have something to tie them together?

i definitely want to be sure to give everyone an individual cool role. i was thinking each person in a team would have a specific designation kind of like card suits - one character would at least nominally be responsible for decisions (king), one would be responsible for defending the team if another one encroached too much on their territory (jack/knight), maybe in concert with another (queen/mage??), and maybe a fourth role just to make the teams even. that's a good idea though, making everyone in a team a kind of facet of a greater domain. i think i might blend those ideas, ty!

i haven't been in a game in a while, so i'm not sure what's considered 'high.' i was thinking maybe 10+ in three threads? don't care if they're logs, action spam, whatever. since the game would be small, it'd also be easy to consider individual extra AC rewards.

normal ac is 10 in 2 threads for a majority of games right now. i'd say something a little higher and maybe if it's a team game one of the threads has to be with their team?

fme high ac these days is 20 comments across three threads.

so maybe that can be the ac requirement + incentive to do team threads by giving points for interacting with members of the pantheon?

I was just thinking about a team game! Are you wedded to the gods idea anon?

I was thinking of something more sci-fi, with teams who own/work on a space ship heading out to different planets to explore. Have you seen The Expanse? I was thinking something like that: 4 person crew, each with specific expertise (weapons, flight, engineering, comms etc), with political factions and some kind of ancient alien civ backplot that doesn't really get in the way of episodic explorations and plot moments (more like classic episodic scifi).

I also thought you could have the teams get mixed up every so often, either through people landing on the same planet or people getting captured by each other, or simply crewing out on a different ship.

The main problem I can see here is that the format is basically inviting cliques. But perhaps having a smaller game cap, and rewarding team-mixing in game would help avoid that?
