Have not played FGO myself but I at least know there's that one OVA, as well as the "Learning with Manga" gag series that at least provide a characterization of sorts for the main characters.

i've been planning to voice test a character on a tdm since i love the game setting and have always wanted to see if i could play the character. there are important castmates in the game and upon canon reviewing, i remembered a drastic shift in how my character sees one of the characters already present. it goes from hostile to accepting.

i had been planning to play them from the hostile point in their canon because i figured it would be a good place for me to get a handle on the character, and if i did app them, i could do a lot thanks to the setting. but i started to worry about if the one character tagged me, i would be playing an old tune others who have played that character by taking them from an earlier point. they're from a popular franchise.

what would you anons do? go ahead and play from whatever point you like? message the character's player if they tag you? don't put up a top level and just tag around?

You could also just put an OOC note in the prompt about the canon point you are going with. That way the player has a heads up before they even tag and can already decide for themselves.

What are some common magic girl tropes/messages/trends/views that can be not all they're cracked up to be? I don't necessarily want to go into some kind of dark and edgy critique or diatribe, but I'm working on a story where the heroine's in a magic girl academy of sorts and she struggles a lot because even though her heart's in the right place and she does good in her own way, it's not the "proper magic girl" way of doing things.

i think they can be useful if used correctly, like any other rp "tool"

for example months ago an anon said they wanted a cast and/or game cap for emphateias and me and other anons told them it wasn't really necessary because mods are doing ok with the work, there is a variety of casts and characters to tag, and plot is only open logs, not limited slots. the game was working fine and adding lists for the mods to keep track of is useless extra work

but games like duplicity and aefenglon, when they saw the rush of people on the first tdms and reserves, they should've put a game cap asap. everyone saw the problems coming.

I gave an old friend very gentle crit (about a very simple/common grammatical error!) with a compliment buffer, even, and she stopped replying to our thread after boomeranging.
The mod also stopped replying to my thread after my character who was kind of a rude character who just recently turned nicer said/did a rude thing...

Both are actively tagging and discussing other threads.
To be fair, there is an event thread going on and my stuff is backtagging, but still...

Ace of Clay!

A really nice and funny dude and super talented with all the sculptures he makes. Everything is made from pretty simple materials and he's super chill about helping people out where they might need it.

Also it's fascinating watching just write and foil being turned into a full clay piece.

anons, how to deal with chest/back blackheads and acne? moreso blackheads than anything, but it's all red spots anyway since i have a terrible picking habit, lmao. :(

my hormones are really out of balance at the moment which is sending my skin into a frenzy and i've always had very oily skin, but this is one issue that i want to get a handle on more than anything for my own self image. i use body wash and keep my hair off my back, so clearly i need something more heavy duty.

Wear a different, clean sleep shirt at night

Use a body wash that contains salicylic acid, exfoliate once a week. If your skin dries out too quickly, taper your usage down a bit

Use a body lotion that won't clog your pores (skip mineral oil stuff & straight coconut oil)

Grab some acne spot dots to cover active breakouts you're tempted to pick at

This is a question for organized people, who rarely drop tags and keep up lots of cr, and/or play multiple characters in multiple games.

What’s your tagging strategy?
Do you start at the bottom of your inbox and proceed in an orderly fashion?
Do you set aside certain days for certain characters?
Any other organization tips?
What do you do when you get stuck on a tag?
How do you prioritize games vs memes?
How much time per day do you typically spend on rp?

I try to hit my inbox at least once a day. I got from oldest tag to newest by each character and will always do game tags before I do meme/psl ones.

When I get stuck on a tag is about the only time I'll skip it to clear the rest of my inbox and then come back to it. I find for me that just forcing myself to tag with something, even if it isn't totally pleasing to me, is real important. The longer a stuck tags sits, the less likely I will be to ever think of a reply.

that's really dependant on how much actually happens in those chapters. there's plenty of manga that are only 20-30 chapters long, total, and would be totally appable, but i wouldn't app someone from a shonen series that's clearly designed to last at least 5 years after only 20-30 chapters.
