How are they sketchy? I've never had issues and I've owned 10+ toys before. They're quick to answer tickets and address issues, so unless you're going to say they're "problematic uwu" for some stupid reason Idk why they'd be sketchy.

bd has a history of sending out items with bubbles or other defects in them as flawless, taking photographs of stock toys that hide bubbles/defects, denying warranty claims for items that were flawed or damaged before the buyer received them, copying designs from other smaller fantasy dildo makers, and a number of miscellaneous customer service snafus but it's been a hot minute since i read the particulars.

To answer your question, don't order anything above a small if you're a first timer. Trust me, even BD smalls are BIG if you're not used to it. Also, it would depend on if you enjoy texture/want a knot/etc.

Medium firmness is my preference. A little bit firmer than a real dick but not by a whole lot, and still has a good amount of give. i bought from bd a long time ago and i must be a small bitch cause anything getting close to 6" circumference was sorta uncomfortable, depending. 6"+ was either unusable or so uncomfortable to use i never got used to it. a lot of their smalls are that big so if you're thinking about it check size charts. soft firmness does help some.

the shape of the knot is something you gotta consider. If it's a really sudden bulge, you're going to have a bad time if it's your first knot, even if you've taken dick a dozen times before. for a first knot, you want something with a little give, not a huge difference between the shaft and knot, and some tapering on entrance & exit.

(for a GOOD knot, you want something with a good distance, i want to say quarter inch? from the base and the end of the knot 👀 that way it can lock in)

arousal & lube are very important! if you're not horny for it, you're not gonna get far and where you do get is going to be uncomfortable. even if you ARE horny for it, extra slide is always helpful. no such thing as too much lube unless you're literally slipping down the street.
