This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Well, tbh I can understand where they are coming from. Even after having the shadow blob thing show up and say stop it, the same cast (or parts of it) decided they want to kill off a member of their group.

Just as an outsider that felt a bit overkill (ha ha).

thats real easy to ignore though, except for how the mods keep putting things like this as main plots. see kylo ren for example. hes been in every mod post for the past how many months now? and he's played by a mod so I'm more bothered by that than any death count.

if they don't want deaths maybe they shouldn't do plots like the earthquake one or the aiada one, either.

Non-RNG plots are a huge joke in this game. You get the enforcers and mods plus their pets piling on and everyone else gets the scraps. When people who aren't in that group of players want to try something, they get slammed with consequences.

Why does a PC organization get that much power and dibs on plot involvement in the first place? Why aren't NPCs looking to tear this group in particular down after all these deaths on their watch?

And don't forget the Arehtei reps where it's obvious the mods picked their favorites. Also love their claim that we don't need to go through the Arehtei reps for anything, yet the way it works in practice is that yes, you do. Sucks to be you if you and a player in one of these groups don't get along, they drop your thread, or they are slow as molasses.

All the reps need to go and the PC Enforcers also need to go. There's also a few mods who need to be given a warning, if not removed from the mod team for their blatant favoritism and shitty attitudes, starting with whoever wrote the mod post.

speaking of plots does anybody know if the crystal was supposed to be broken this long? iirc there was a post that allowed people to get clues towards fixing it and then we had milla's announcement and that's it. did i miss something?

i know she's going through stuff right now, but has anyone else ever noticed how whenever something bad happens in the game that ryn suddenly doesn't feel like rping? this has happened any time she'd been brought up or there's wank and she's really hard to get replies out of to begin with. it's not the way a mod should be acting.

So what would you say the tone of this game is like, anons? From the premise and the enablers on plurk I thought it was more on the lighthearted end of plotty, but reading all this about murder plots makes it sound like it's much darker in tone. I'm not looking for a place where only nice things happen to my character and I'm not interested in solely slice of life, but I just got out of a horror game and I'm burnt out on playing my character in constant peril. I know one thread on an anoncomm isn't necessarily indicative of the overall game tone, though, so I was just interested in hearing more before I start looking at apping. Thanks in advance!

emp is not a horror game by any stretch of the imagination. most of the death has been cast specific plots and are very contained. that's why the mods bringing special attention to it and introducing this new special entity is so out of left field and confusing. the entire point was to cut down on death plots in the first place (there have only been three recently though...)

the biggest events are the festivals and parties followed by god caused events and then followed by some psuedo political/bureaucracy stuff of being representatives for the otherworlders. there is some very long running mystery elements of figuring out just what the gods are and the history of the floating island too. overall it's a light mood with occasional action plots like the earthquake created by aiada.

its a fantasy game with a balance of serious and lighthearted. its not anywhere near as dark in tone as this thread makes it sounds, you're fine.
