Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

Well, tbh I can understand where they are coming from. Even after having the shadow blob thing show up and say stop it, the same cast (or parts of it) decided they want to kill off a member of their group.

Just as an outsider that felt a bit overkill (ha ha).

thats real easy to ignore though, except for how the mods keep putting things like this as main plots. see kylo ren for example. hes been in every mod post for the past how many months now? and he's played by a mod so I'm more bothered by that than any death count.

if they don't want deaths maybe they shouldn't do plots like the earthquake one or the aiada one, either.

I actually agree with you on. I'm happy the mods are curbing the death plots but they're the ones who perpetuated it in the first place with the mod played character Kylo Ren. And continued to perpetuate it for several months and when other players wanted to do it suddenly it's not okay? What?

ryoko only became a mod recently tho. the gate plot that really seemed to kick off the death snowball came back in like... february?? and that was the fma cast

it is kind of weird how everyone wants to be a killer these days though.

given that some of the characters who have killed in game are killers in canon I can see them wanting to play it out

I don't think anything will be quite as ridiculous as kimbley's pointless suicide tho

Re: dda

And did that really need to be posted on the network? At the very least, that really should have been behind a cut tag.

His suicide bothers me less than his character reading sometimes like his player and their friends are using him as a way to throw whatever opinions they want to out (his post about the enforcers and then his one about emotions not long after silvers)

There's also a thread where Tsukiyama talks about Kimbley's suicide with Aiada. That really rubbed me the wrong way.

Of course, I also know now that Dal reads this since her comment on the mod post pretty much copied some of the views anons here gave in her comment, one of which I definitely know wasn't her because I wrote it. So hi Dal!

Not Dal but is it now wrong to admit to reading rpa? After reading several of the comments here I was wondering if anyone had gone to the mods about concerns and was going to myself via the screened mod contact post--I've done it before bringing up things mentioned here or on wg.

As long as the mods are confronted with what people are upset about does it really matter who brought it forward?

this isn't wankgate. it's not somewhere to dump your shit. there's actually useful resources here, so if you were to say 'hey, i read this on rpa', there shouldn't be any kind of reprisal for that. if there is, your mods are idiots.

there may not be mod reprisal but this place is kind of a cesspit lately

it's not uncommon for stuff to be dismissed with "rpa isn't a way to bring things to the mods' attention!" while the actual complaint is ignored when it's brought forward that way, it's always been like that

Re: dda

Actually my issue is more with the fact that some of it was copied nearly word for word. I find it downright hilarious though because it explains so much.

Re: dda

not dal but i don't blame them for stepping up. they had enough to question the mods with just on the first point alone. there's only one cannibal in game and getting vague mentioned in a mod announcement is really shitty especially considering the tone of the entire announcement.

Re: dda

(Anonymous) 2016-06-20 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
That part I don't have an issue with and don't blame them for bringing it up (though I probably would have done it in private or on the screened post). What made me wonder was the part calling out Kylo Ren. The wording is very similar to another comment in this thread, just some slight changes to be more tactful since the exact wording wasn't suitable for saying on a mod post.

Re: dda

(Anonymous) 2016-06-23 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
nothing about dal's post is tactful. I can't imagine talking like that to another player, let alone the mods of the game I'm playing in.

The tone is very aggressive. She has right to be mad of course but this isnt debate class.

Re: dda

(Anonymous) 2016-06-20 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
^ agreed. in the enforcers post, they dropped almost all the threads where characters were offering reasonable opinions in favor of the ones where he was just talking the same shit over and over

it really made it seem like the player just wanted to stir shit ICly

There's also two mods in the FMA cast. Also, Dragon plays Wrath, and Wrath was involved in some of the kidnappings in the gate plot at minimum, if not some of the deaths. What's also interesting is that Ryn is in both the Star Wars and FMA casts.

Re: EMPATHEIAS

Yeah, I was really bothered by all the attention Kylo Ren got for his stupid murder plot and generally being negative. And yes, I say it's stupid because the reasoning was dumb. Also to be quite honest, it didn't seem that IC when we see Ren getting information from people in the movie via his Force powers multiple times. It's exactly what the mods are saying not to do now, and this was done by a mod.

It just seems a lot like someone leaving a plate of cookies out and saying to help themselves and then getting mad when they come back to find all the cookies are gone. Considering that players need to give the mods a heads up about a character death, it seems the mods are at fault here, but the players are being blamed for the mods' failings.
