FLAWED

ICOOCMEMESNAVIGATIONTEST DRIVE

This is another place, another world. You feel it almost instantly, a truth that your mind might deny but your bones know. As you pick yourself up from the dust and stone, brush grass and grit from your clothes and look around you, you realize that you're not alone. It wasn't just you.

Exclamations from the strangers around you turn your attention from your wild, overgrown surroundings to the evidence of civilization and war. Someone pulls an ancient, rusted sword from the grass, searching its pommel for gems. Someone else finds the rotting scrap of a banner, its emblem unrecognizable.

"How do we get home!?" Someone asks, in a panic. Another stranger answers, "We must have been brought here for a reason."

Does the need to return to the world you were pulled from overwhelm you? Is the need to investigate more strong? Are you happy to bid the world behind farewell?

A cry goes up in the distance, from someone who'd volunteered to scout.

Someone is coming.

not to be a debbie downer but is there any other way to run item requests besides AC point rewards? i love the setting but i am really tired of the level grinding aspect of point systems.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-19 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
not to mention it is pretty steep to demand 600 comments of AC over time just because someone wants to keep on particular canon power.

Re: sa

(Anonymous) 2016-06-19 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
would you prefer the powers be nerfed? and it wouldn't take that long. 5 comments every 2 months doesn't sound like much, but if between 2 months you can't rack up enough to get anything, that's not a fault of the system.

tbh, i'm glad to see a game that doesn't just hand out abilities and powers and takes things like that into consideration. not everyone's going to have canon abilities. they can gain and people with abilities have to work off a deficit to get more than what they have. it evens the field. it also isn't a bad thing to have a game that makes you work for things. it's not like you're working for money or a place in the game. ac points are bonus things. to buy bonus abilities. that aren't necessary to play in the game. damn right you should do more than the minimum to get rewards.

it might be a bit steep depending on the ability being kept but it's not like powers are something that should be gotten right off the bat. icly, it should take your char awhile to learn a new skill or find a way to be imbued with it. not like 'oh, i landed here. give me stuff'.

this got a little overinvested, sorry. i get you're disappointed and it's a bummer to have to pay off a debt, but you can always just not have the power and buy things as you want. going by the tdm, lots of people are going the nerfed route. having options is way better, imo, than powers for powered chars and nothing for nons, or nerfed all the way.

TEMPLE GATES

rulesfaqinfonavigatemods
You wake up on the ground. Maybe you were fighting and got knocked out, or maybe you were just walking down the street, or maybe you went to bed as normal. Whatever it was, you have nothing but the clothes that were on your back. The walls are made of mud and the floor is stone, and the room is empty except for you, a brazier, and a woman. She sits serenely nearby in a sheer robe, legs folded as she watches you calmly.

"Welcome, stranger," she says. "You're on an island called Iwi, in the temple of Keb. The gods have brought you here for some purpose. If you have any questions for me, you may ask, though I may not be able to answer. Otherwise, you may go to the courtyard and wait with the other visitors. Go in peace."

The courtyard is full of palm trees and fruit-bearing bushes, and you can see a jungle stretching above the walls of the temple. As you make your way over to a cluster of people who look as out-of-place as you feel, the gates of the temple are pushed open...

Temple Gates is an action-adventure incentive-based smut game, set on a tropical island. There is no smut AC, and characters can live and participate in the plot without having sex, although they may not like it. Temple Gates accepts fandom characters, OCs, CRAUs, and fandom OCs or minor characters without a strong connection to the main cast. Temple Gates has multiple systems in place to facilitate CR and encourage characters to spread the love, and will afford players many opportunities to affect the plot and the setting.

TU SHANSHU

[personal profile] ironwood 2016-06-14 02:12 am (UTC)(link)

( a world between Life, Dreaming and Death... )
In the wake of Malicant's defeat, the kedan have taken back both their identities and the city of Keeliai in the merged Dreaming and Life Planes. The hatchling turtles, the last offspring of their cosmic race, were forced to abandon their home and return to the seas of Konryu, and their exact whereabouts are unknown. The old guard has fallen, paving the way for a new era.

Three major family factions -- the mafia-like Snakes, the reclusive Woodsmen, and the industrious Metalworkers -- have risen to prominence while the Foreigners were absent. They now dominate the city with a power struggle that has spawned new allegiances, new technology, and new threats to be faced. Meanwhile, the other nations of Konryu, no longer united by the threat of Malicant, have turned their eyes to Tu Vishan, looking to take its prominence and resources for themselves.

Moreover, the distinction between the merged Life and Dreaming planes is fading, and with that comes the discovery of strange abilities to conjure -- both intentionally and not -- things into reality. Combined with magical artifacts bestowing unusual powers on those who find them, life on the turtle is anything but tame.

For the Foreigners who remain on Tu Vishan, and those who now find themselves arriving through tears in the fabric of the realms, they must forge a new path for themselves in a world who does not believe it needs them any longer. How will they choose to be involved in writing the new history of Keeliai? Will some take this opportunity to make a niche for themselves in the complicated political arena, or in the secretive black market? Will they make alliances or enemies of the many other nations coming to call?

WE THE LOST

[personal profile] thelostmods 2016-06-14 02:45 am (UTC)(link)

RULESFAQTAKENAPPEVENTSMAPPLOTSITE

Waking up somewhere new isn't that surprising anymore, is it?
Not when you're the Lost.
You've awakened in new worlds,
battled monsters,
staged revolutions,
and struggled to stay alive.
You've done far more than the god Zephyr knows or ever will know.

All Zephyr truly knows now is that you are in need.
They see you and know you have no home.

This is why you're here. You need a home, and Zephyr needs believers.
Can you work together to build this new world?

We the Lost is primarily a healing game, but while the characters learn and grow; so too does the god that brought them here. Each choice and interaction that your character makes affects the way that Zephyr ultimately views the world. This world is nothing without you.

Characters will encounter the child god,
Zephyr, face-to-face and help them grow into a full-fledged god. Zephyr has a name and a form, but they still have much left to figure out about themselves--with the help of the people that they bring in. There are also several other gods who occasionally look in on the Meadous and have a tendency to meddle.

Mod-run events occur roughly once a month and range from silly (e.g., a kite flying festival) to serious and dangerous (e.g., gods tampering with the negative emotions of characters).

Will your character come to accept the Meadous as their new home? Or will they try to find some means of escape? Will they take advantage of the wishing pond?
Zephyr can grant many desires: healing characters from their previous games, restoring magic and items, and much more.

STATION 72

ICOOCMEMESNAVIGATION

ONCE you were living your life - good, bad, perfectly average - and the next your reality was invaded by an alien force on the hunt-- for you. Luckily, a stranger offered a way out. You accepted.

NOW there is a light above you. It casts the numerous chambers of the nesting deck in a soft broken light - including yours. There's a tube connected from the chamber to the base of your skull, but that's not what the splitting headache's from. Push past the veneer of pain. Behind it is knowing - that you're not where you once were, that there are others just like you in the neighboring chambers, and that you are not alone..

Welcome to Station 72. You’ve joined the ranks of the Nest. Nominally a peace-keeping force, the Nest is required to be strong and fit enough to counter balance forces of destruction in the multi-verse. All alien members of the Nest (that's you) are implanted with a symbiotic organism. The symbiote connects with the mind and body of its host, enabling the host body to gain superhuman abilities with which to further their cause. Over time these abilities can be strengthened by solidifying the connection between host and symbiote - but be warned: knowledge and power comes at a cost.

The closer a host is to the hivemind of the Nest, the less of an individual they become.

STATION 72 is a pan-fandom space opera RPG questioning the nature of individuality and its role in the pursuit of a greater multi-dimensional good. It focuses on team building, close interpersonal relationships, and developing shared skills. Strong themes include shared experiences, the meaning of individuality and identity, psychological transformation, and some existential horror.

YOU HAVE BEEN C.A.L.L.E.D.

What the hell is this thing? You went to sleep, or you were knocked out, or maybe you were meditating. Regardless, the second that your guard is down, there it is. It's not that big, a little larger than a pencil box (if you have those; do you? whoever is delivering these is not terribly particular about technology levels...) and when you open it, you'll find a smartphone-like device with the letters C.A.L.L.E.D. inscribed on the back. At your touch, you feel the barest, faintest zing of electricity, like a static zap, and the screen lights. Yeah, that's not creepy at all...

Who ARE these people? That guy's talking about vampires, this woman's complaining about superheroes, and... who cares about gardening? Seriously? But a few of them mention the one button, the curious one. The one marked TRANSPORT that keeps drawing your eye.

So you hit the button. And now you're in this ridiculously massive city that's half fiction, half reality, and all completely bonkers. Because you could swear you remember reading about that tower in a book. And you've seen that castle in a movie. And that place, that place is definitely from your favorite comic book. And for everything you learn, more questions just take it's place: how the hell are you here? who sent you the device? why did they send it to YOU? and what, exactly, does it mean to be CALLED?

Good luck figuring it out...

SUBNAUTICA

MAINOOCMEMES

On the planet Iniidae located somewhere in the Delphinus constellation, you awaken from a jolt of pain in the underwater base, ready to start a new day. You have a memory of some reason why you would joined a mission to scout the planet, record data, and make it habitable by any means necessary.

But that's no easy task. The base is small, claustrophobic, sometimes maddeningly quiet and none too private. Escaping cabin fever by diving out into the unknown depths could prove fatal with so many creatures leagues ahead of you on the food chain. The deeper you go, the further away from safety, the more deadly and strange the world becomes. A downed ship from a recent crew looms in the distance, wrecked, as a reminder that there isn't an easy way off now.

But don't lose heart. The only way to make it now is to move forward. You aren't alone and with your fellow survivors and a handy AI named URSULA, you can reshape the world. You can make it a better place to live. And maybe, with some luck, you can find a way off the planet. Or maybe you'll want to stay here forever in a paradise of your making. The water feels like home in a way that you just can't shake. It sings to you in your sleep.

This is Iniidae, a planet with its own will. But whose is stronger? Yours or the planet's?

UPCOMING PLOTS/TEST DRIVE

[personal profile] letsgolegion 2016-06-17 12:49 pm (UTC)(link)
The Legion has now reached a new stage in its metaplot, and a great jumping-on point, and the stakes couldn't be higher! Now the dimensionally displaced Legionnaires know who brought them to the Legion's universe and why, and they now face the nearly impossible task of saving the multiverse.

Aside from the shift in the metaplot, the game has quite a few upcoming plots over the next few months that new players may enjoy, everything from wielding emotion-fueled power rings, to investigating possible moles within the Legion's team/support staff, to surviving televised death arenas. Characters that are in touch with their emotions or have strong willpower, characters with investigation skills, and characters with unarmed combat and survival skills will find a lot to do in our upcoming plots.

The most recent test drive can be found here.

Currently 35 of 50 players slots are available in the game. The character limit is 4 characters per player.

"Angelus Errare, Where Angels Lose Their Way..."

Whether you were awake, asleep, or anything between, a sudden tide has swept you away. From your life, your world, your dreams and waking reality. Breaking from that tide, swimming to the shore, you find yourself on an island in the middle of a bright and confusing ocean world, the extents of which you cannot know. The island is inviting, but thinking about it too much hurts your head in a way more strange than any ache you've had before. This world is strange, oddly incorporeal, and unreal. It is a world between worlds, a narrow space between all things. A Cleft of Dimensions. And now you're stuck there, for the time being, dealing with all the surreality that comes with it.

At least you get to live in a nice tree? Bright side in all things.

Angelus Errare is a throwback-style RP where characters have wound up in a strange between-universe where the laws of reality no longer apply. Events will arrange from cracky to actiony to maybe a bit of horror who knows, it's gonna get weird either way. There are no overlords that brought you to this jamjar, so it's up to you, the characters, to find out what this place is, why you're here, and how you can get home. Good luck!
