Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

yeah.... but they still said that after three~four months of encouraging players to do death plots and running their own. the tone of the mod announcement is really whiny too. and yes ive talked to multiple people who read it that way before reading rpanons complaints so this isn't unfounded

not saying you have no reason to be upset

people are acting as if death is now removed from play and this is the worst thing to happen in recent human history

you have points and reasons to be mad but slow down lol

"However, we're going to say it now—we can make deaths permanent if necessary, including making a character no longer able to be applied into the game, and we have the in-game mechanism to do it."

threatening to add perma-death and restricting people from apping those characters back in is a really shitty thing to spring on a playerbase out of fucking no where. is it the worst thing to happen in recent human history? no. have they actually done it? no. it's still a really shitty thing to do as a mod of a game and telling them straight out that they can't threaten us with consequences we don't deserve is a reasonable reaction.

ok???? i did say there were reasons to be mad and people had points

take it to the mods directly tho

all people are doing now is riling themselves up way more and making the game look bad to new players........

i have critted the mods twice in the past on different things (i make sure to add praise for things to do well too because i know crit can be taxing) and both times i only received one paragraph replies that amounted to "okay, but we're going to keep doing it anyway" or "sorry you read it that way". sorry if i don't think they're going to listen to my crit this time either. (not like their response to dal was encouraging on top of that).

they mods clearly are doing what they want to do when they want to and whatever it's their game but i'm getting a little fed up with it. especially since this certain warning reads of hypocrisy because practically every recent death plot has involved a mod or mod approval.

you dont need to justify why youre mad about this, i was jus saying people are going overboard with it thats all

but youre not reading what im saying and just wanna tell me why youre mad so i'll stop

i'm actually glad they did that because after having a crmate in another game who took every possible excuse to kill off their character whenever they could, i do not want to have to deal with that shit again. there are some people who don't know how to be reasonable about that kind of thing and i'm glad that the mods won't tolerate it.

i agree with you but the issue is more that they sprung it on their players out of nowhere (and not for the first time) and only AFTER they put so much attention on a murder plot. they made it seem like it was totally fine and then suddenly we get this slap on the wrist.

i'll believe what they said in response to dal that they had the plot going before it became a problem but how stupid do you have to be to not realize putting a murder plot on the center stage wouldn't encourage others to follow?

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
idk, i wouldn't necessarily have assumed it would encourage others to follow because i don't think most of the characters we have in the game at the moment are the type to just up and kill other people. pride and kylo both got punished for what they did, too, so i would think if anything that would make other characters even less likely to want to try something similar.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-24 02:09 pm (UTC)(link)
true but that "punishment" also involved getting heavy plot involvement and special attention. i dunno about you but most rpers i know love that shit and will jump on the bandwagon if it means their character gets to be special.

i have no horse in this race because i think the overreaching plot in this game is utterly boring to begin with but i still think the mods should have known better. basically it was a huge oversight and it happens. hopefully they just learn from this and can improve from there.
