i've never even played da and cullen inspires an intense amount of hatred in me

mainly because all his players have been either flaky fucks or toxic shitstains in my experience, and he's so goddamn boring i can't even imagine what compels people to play him to begin with

he's also pretty ugly (though so is everyone in da thanks to the hideous graphics) so the fawning all over him defies logic for me

A busybody, the type who pushes buttons for the hell of it, likes to meddle and matchmake, but is relatively effective (i.e. isn't overbearing about it). I'd prefer if they weren't acting out to cover up for their tragic backstory, that's probably a tall order. Any medium is fine!

what fantasy-genre games are around right now, i lost track but want to look at some

if you were to erase all episodes of a series, it would cease to exist. if you were to erase the most recent episode(s) of a series, it wouldn't air any new episodes. any reason counts.

easy mode: i nuke all of supernatural (it's somewhere in the mid-200s for episodes i think), BBC sherlock, and all of eleven's doctor who run. all of dollhouse, the joss whedon show. all of the vampire diaries. teen wolf after season three. there's probably a couple of other CW shows i want to kill. go through xena and kill all the insane "we ran out of ideas" episodes from season 4 and later. same for a couple other of my childhood shows -- voyager and charmed come to mind. i'm somewhere in the 300s now, so i'm gonna go through and mop up a bunch of shows that were canceled after one season, either because they were shitty or because i want more of them. now i don't have to pine after them! nuke 30 rock out of spite because it killed a show i loved that premiered the same year. that probably puts me in the 500s or 600s, so i'll just keep going mopping up some one-season shows (the only one i can think of that i definitely don't nuke is firefly).

hard mode: there's one or two particular 1-season shows i want to smite, and then i'll kill all the most recent episodes of supernatural that i have leftover so it can't air new ones.

buy a small house and a working car. put some of it toward education -- maybe even take classes to get proficient in stuff that's purely indulgent on my part and not necessary for my desired field. buy shit to entertain myself, like video games and top-of-the-line computers. buy a new wardrobe. pay for surgery to fix my jaws and teeth. invest most of it.

I've been missing GB and would really like for a game based off it to make a comeback. I'd love to make it and mod it, and I know people are feeling nostalgic for it, but what was it that makes you miss it?

Do people want a legit clone of the GB or something loosely based with the infinite improbability drive, the different worlds, the different jobs, etc.?

I have an idea of where I'd like to take it but I don't know if it differs from other people. Were the H2G2 roots what made the game for you or the opportunities players had to do what they wanted?

a legit clone or something based off of it would be fine either way, imo, so long as you kept things fresh and didn't retread old ground too heavily. i've never read the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy before, so the fact that it was very sandbox-y and relaxed is what made me love it so much. there aren't many games like that now (see: all of the complaints about horror games) so i think that alone would make it really appealing.

RP GAME NAME OR NOT?

3. after a few guesses, op chimes in with the answer.
4. that's it, that's the game.
5. cheating can't be reinforced but don't do it, it's bad!

make it as basic (island/daisychain) or pretentious (medietas/ryslig) or long or short as you want, as long as it sounds like a plausible game name.

looking back on old logs and this one person i played with apparently thought she was being super clever/funny by having her characters interpret the insult "you bastard" literally

like in one log one of her characters is called a bastard: "take that back, my parents were married!!!"

in another log a character is opening up to her serious, helpful mentor character and starts off by saying "[other character that hurt me] is such a bastard": mentor guy kills the mood by going "don't say that, his parents were probably married"

Gay For You
In the 'Gay for You' (GFY) genre, a character who was not previously gay, or at least didn't know they were, meets 'the one' and embarks on a gay relationship with him/her. The implication is usually that one or both protagonists wouldn't be in a same-sex relationship except with this one special person.

holly fuck. i always hated this clicche in fanfic, but they're using the term for real in reviews. why. it screams homophobic to me. "oh i love this dude but i'm not gay!!!"

it's actually not all that uncommon irl to have exceptions to your normal sexuality, anon. i personally know three people (straight and gay) who have had relationships with a single person outside of their normal sexual preference. two of them ended up marrying that person, the other one didn't. but in each case they still identified as straight/gay despite that one exception.
