rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

I like jerk with a heart of gold types, you know, the kind that are prickly on the outside but care a lot still. Particularly if they're really dedicated or self sacrificial in some manner. Gender doesn't really matter. For medium, let's say TV shows or anime, but preferably nothing from a long-running show since a long review puts me off.

if you like slice of life stuff, about a third of the love live cast fits the bill (eli, maki and especially nico)

Fakir from Princess Tutu, if you haven't looked at him already. Comes off as a suspicious, standoffish, humorless, prickly jackass exactly because he cares almost obsessively and hasn't figured out what better to do with that. Starts off antagonistic to the protag but starts tolerating her when he accepts that their motivations aren't at odds, clearly warms up to her without losing his blunt, dry, intense attitude and eventually becomes her LI in a way that doesn't feel unresolved by the end of the series but that's actually more implied and interpretable as platonic than spelled out at the same time.

Grunkle Stan from Gravity Falls. he's definitely a jerk that cares about his family more than himself, badass and prickly on the outside, but has his moments where he shows that underneath that wrinkly exterior is a man who would give up everything as long as they were safe
