Gb's old mods seem pretty chill about it, at least on plurk. Idk I think the mod of this new game should at least get in touch with them and say "hi mind if I copy your game" as a curtosy

as much as i like the mods from gb, i cant really say i blame whoever the mod(s) of this new version for not going "hey i'm making this game like yours kthnks." i've seen them act pretty negatively before when someone tried to confront them. like how they didnt seem to care that they unfairly didnt have to make ac but everyone else did.

besides who's the say they didn't try to contact one of them but couldn't get a hold of anyone of them. i heard they all have pretty busy schedules lately.

I still don't really see the big deal. I mean gb closed down a long while ago. Not only that, but it was dying rather fast before it did close and it was because the previous mods just gave up and didn't do anything.

If someone for whatever reason wanted to make a game based off of bnf_brawl, would you expect them to hunt down the mods of that? (I only brought up that game because I know it closed sooooo long ago.)

depends on what you mean by 'find'. if you don't know who you even want, you could just go type in things like 'dark haired girl' or 'blue eyed boy' in google and find a face that suits you best. then maybe go to pb_updates on ij and see if their name is available.

...or, to put it more universally, a panfandom game with horror trappings and black-comedy-friendliness that's ultimately more surreal/cracky, with characters duped into coming into a B-horror-themed amusement park with material bribes, the simple promise that it'll be fun! - maybe villains, pranksters, or even creative or engineer types and performers could have even been offered jobs at the park instead of tickets - only to find that they can't leave until they've amassed a certain amount of prize money/credits or earned a certain amount of pay from touring or working on the park's attractions.

Each attraction would be a new themed "haunted house" explorable in an event - maybe characters would be able to break into teams to explore different parts of each one. Other smaller things or certain key areas of attractions after that attraction's debut event would be available to explore at any time by anyone. I don't know whether the mods would be best involved at a Dangan Roleplay level, at one of writing each park feature and attraction's "story", or at a kind of in-between one, breaking each exploration of an attraction into parts, describing what there is to see and what a character might pick up on at the start and then telling particular characters or groups what's in store for them/where they'll end up/etc. based on what they did and explored in the preceding part. There'd be some NPC-ing, of enemies where needed, maybe in monthly updates in the form of announcements by Michael Reynolds, and of one or two in-attraction NPCs as part of the scenario's story or as flavor-adding side characters or set pieces.

Supernatural or offensive powers would be stripped on entry of the game on some "no outside food, drink, weapons, or abilities allowed on the premises!" sort of clause, but humanization wouldn't be in effect. Death would be as permanent as a player would want it to be, or dependent on a character or their CR paying or owing some of their attraction-completing funds (or maybe AC would also keep a character funded?) for their revival, just the way it works in the source material.
