Sometimes I wonder if Spanish-speaking anons are having similar discussions about gender. In Spanish, the language is so gendered that pencils are masculine and pens are plural. Is there a movement over there that's trying to promote equality by stripping the gender from their language?

I never had a problem with tense agreement before I started journal RP. Between reading people who switch willy nilly and replying to some people who use present tense and then some who use past, I find myself screwing up more and more often. Curse you RP!

Seriously, is there something you blame on RP?

i used to love dungeons and dragons and other tabletop rp... now i find it kind of limiting and dull. it's still better than most dwrp games, but the best journal r game i've been in is way ahead of the best tabletop game i've been in. just a different mindset, i guess.

why do people always call you a 'dudebro' just because you don't care about the plot in the video game?

it's not like im opposed to the idea of plot in a video game, but 90% of the time video game plots are boring and poorly implemented. You're writing a game, not a movie - the gameplay and plot should work together, at least a little, but I can't name all that many games that actually take advantage of their medium to get even the smallest bits of plot across.

Drug Plots

Someone mentioned Breaking Bad characters and it got me wondering about drug plots in games. Have you ever seen characters dealing drugs in panfandom games?

One of my characters is a gang leader and drug dealer in canon! I last played him in an AU game, though, so he was able to have his business established in the background. I imagine it would be hard to start dealing drugs in most jamjars.

What are your rp regrets, anons?

I had a psl going with a friend that lasted for almost five years, it was epic and incredible and I was in love with the characters and all our plots.

But the friend was really toxic and grew increasingly so the longer we knew each other. Eventually we drifted apart when I got engaged (she'd been jilted once and had let it turn her into a really, really bitter person about anyone's happy relationship) and she got meaner and meaner ooc until I finally had to break ties for my own mental wellbeing.

Leaving our huge epic RP story in the very beginning stages of what could have been its epic conclusion. :(

I know it's for the best overall but god damn, sometimes I look back and wish I could of stood it for just another few months.

torrenting language programs

so I'm taking some time off from school for health issues (seriously physical problems that are going to prevent me from doing a lot of things for months at a time after an accident) and I currently don't have a job for the same reason.

I've been thinking about trying to learn another language! has anyone had any luck with Rosetta Stone, particularly torrenting it? any advice on the program and all the associated ISO, mounting, installation jargon? what language would you recommend starting with? are there any similar programs you might recommend?

Think about what language you wanna study and how you want to go about it. Are you just interested in learning to speak, or do you want to read and write it too? Depending on the language, as well as how interested/invested you are in learning it, you could wind up with very different results.

I've heard Rosetta stone can be really hit and miss for some languages, but that can also depend on the person. Try looking up reviews on websites where people have purchased it.

Honestly, I'd say look into some apps for phones/tablets. I've found some pretty great stuff available for free for the language I'm studying (Japanese). I know some people look into podcasts too so they can heart the language as they learn it and get a feel for how it sounds.

Dean is only seventeen when Sam starts to peek in on him. He knows he shouldn’t, but his new teenage hormones are raging through his bloodstream and for some reason spying on his brother seems to be the best way to appease them. He has no interest in girls, finds them too soft and annoying to be attractive, and the boys his age are all weak and immature.

Dean, though, he’s perfect. His voice is deep and melodious, reminiscent of his powerful yet lithe body, muscles rippling like liquid beneath the finely tanned skin that’s dusted by a light trail of freckles every few inches. He’s tall and broad, his body warm when Sam pretends to fall asleep against him while they watch movies in the motel room.

He’s manly, which is what Sam likes. Which is why it surprises him that when he peeks into the bathroom one night while the shower water is warming and Dean is distracted in lifting his shirt over his head, to spot a pair of worn cotton panties covering his brother’s ass. yes and no, in that order
