Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I don't trust Bioware anymore.

Never buying another ME or DA game until after it's been out a long time and I've read tons of player feedback. Even then, I might wait until the price drops.

I'm looking forward to the new Mass Effect because it might expand on ME3's multiplayer, but I have absolutely zero capability to give a shit about any single player campaign.

I mean, I dunno how anybody can get invested. It's impossible to get invested in anything they do when you know they can just pull the rug out from under you again and then go "Hey, fuck you," when you have a problem with it.

Anon, you're just not intelligent enough to get how incredibly meaningful their ending ideas are.

I'm really hyped about DA:I, since the team SEEMS to have taken a lot of fan criticism to heart, but I'm also really afraid that I'm going to get burned because of it.

Mass Effect burned me so bad I can't even manage to care much about ME4 though. Like, at least the problems with DA2 were, for me anyway, mostly technical (I still was pretty drawn into the characters despite how obviously rushed the ending was), but Bioware's response to fans being angry about the ending was just...no. Fuck Mass Effect.

...you mean releasing a new ending once hey realized how much people hated it, and then the Citadel DLC which is basically a love letter to fans? That response?

Get off your entitlement high horse anon. They realized they fucked up and actually did a lot more than some other companies I could name.

I'm not in the "Bioware is shit forever because of this" camp, but I wouldn't call it being on a high horse or entitlement, either. A lot of fans felt like they'd been pretty seriously let down, and Bioware definitely fanned the flames there for a while.
Also, real talk, the Refusal ending is a blatant middle finger to the people who wanted a change.

That said, I'm actually fine with the Extended Cut (and was surprised and pleased that they did that at all, since it amounted to admitting they were wrong) and Citadel was great.

Nah I totally agree with that. TBH, I actually felt way more let down by Dragon Age 2 than Mass Effect, mainly because I got into the latter after the Extended Cut was released and wasn't playing it during the whole ending debacle. I definitely agree with you about the Refusal ending and I think it should've been decided with your War Assets actually meaning something. And Synthesis rubs me so many wrong ways.

BUT, I do think the fact that people are saying "Bioware are horrible they're the worst" really seem to be forgetting how much they did to try and win people back, moreso than a lot of other gaming companies.

I also haven't played Dragon Age, which maybe has something to do with me being less pissed off than most. But anyway yeah, I do agree with you on that: at least they tried.

DX:HR was so good, what the fuck happened.

Honestly? I think it sat in development hell for too long. I'm not even going to lie that I'm going to be seriously asspained when/if I start seeing Garretts pop up around dw after the game is released.

I'm so apprehensive, but also kind of excited, but also kind of ashamed for being excited. I'm torn. I'm a big fan of the original Thief games, but I'm also a huge fan of anything stealth.

I'm also up in the air about the swarm of Garretts. I thought they'd be a swarm of Corvos et al after Dishonored, but there is surprisingly few. Hopefully, it'll be like that with Thief.
