Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

Character who had bad shit happen to them and they stopped caring if they live or die (or at least appear to) and only live pretty much to protect another person now.

one of my favorite character types C:

Gilbert from Pandora Hearts kinds of works for this
Hagi from Blood+
Oswald from Odin Sphere fits this to a t

Chrono from Chrono Crusade is this to a T. He even buried himself in the tomb of the woman he failed to protect.

Fakir from Princess Tutu is also like this, although he's afraid of dying in the first season. First half of the second season a villain constantly mocks him for "failing to die" constantly and it gets bad enough that he starts appearing to have a death wish.

Kaworu Nagisa from the latest Evangelion film is sort of like this, although he's generally kind of chipper.

Kratos Aurion from Tales of Symphonia.

Sasame from Pretear--more obvious in the anime version. (Manga version more hints at his issues, and he hits rock-bottom in the anime.) Hayate has shades of this, too.

Homura Akemi in Madoka Magica.

Thane in Mass Effect 2, particularly if he's romanced by the main character.

James Eglamore has shades of this in Gunnerkrigg Court. He was in love with the main character's mother, but she married another man and later died. He's now EXTREMELY protective of the MC.

...I really like this character type.

At the risk of sounding obvious, Mikasa from SNK/Attack on Titan.
