rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

cute, playful, and kind characters with maybe a touch of a mischievous side! the only catch is that they have to be stepford smilers in some way who use their lightheartedness as a front for more manipulative machinations or their own agendas, or maybe they just enjoy playing the fool. it's also gotta hide that they're actually pretty smart and/or jaded. bonus if they struggle with becoming the mask. rika furude and lavi bookman have both worked pretty well for this, and nagisa hazuki from free! works on a lighter note as well.

Oh my god, sorry for another Dragon Age rec in this thread, but Leliana. Romantic, frivolous girly-girl who essentially worked as a spy/assassin for most of her life - and got a charge out of using her ability to get the better of people through charm - until she was betrayed by her mentor; basically joined a convent in the next country to hide from the life and plays innocent, coy, and daydreamy, though part of it's authentic, she's legitimately sweet, and she still can have a pretty mischievous sense of humor.

Anime Nicholas D. Wolfwood (manga hits all the same traits you're looking for, but is definitely more fucked-up backstory wise)

Long shot, but you may also like Okita Souji from Peace Maker Kurogane and Shinsengumi Imon Peace Maker. Classic Stepford Smiler, smart and disturbingly savvy behind a facade of bouncy, cheerful childishness.
