i love crosscanon ships but they are hard as fuck to set up - well, for me at least. if assumed cr is cool with you, then you should try shipping memes in bakerstreet. but me, i want to see if there's chemistry first and getting psls tagged out long term seems to be a matter of getting lucky with your partner.

you get me thinking about the condom thing though! i've realized i do play semen everywhere when it comes to m/m, and when i play f/m is either condom or handwave pills.

i wish it was easier to find canonmates to rp with.

like a roll call meme but more long term.

i could just click onto a certain comm, look for a canon and bam see plenty of characters without having to check every roll call meme on bakerstreet. yeah it might get outdated but better than nothing. and i get sick of constantly posting my characters and not getting any bites tbh.

or a tagging system where i could tag my character as a "canonname" character and they'll be listed under a "canonname" page. almost nobody puts their canon in their interests section.

- More games with active networks, I'm okay with logs but I don't like the switch to IC inboxes because I feel like it decreases the amount of interacting between different groups in the game. I'm fine with them being used for stuff that would otherwise be a filtered network post or whatever.
- Games with morally bankrupt or ambiguous premises. I feel like 90% of all games veer away from any interesting moral conflict to appeal to the widest playerbase, which waters down a lot of plots.
- More nonhumans in RP, I'm guilty of playing too many humans myself but there's nothing I enjoy more than engaging nonhuman characters. Bonus points if they're completely nonhumanoid. Walking trees, living furniture, flying cars, giant jellyfish, you name it.
- Fanmade AUs branching off of or based on canon, these are some of my favorites to mess around with and I don't see much of them around anymore.

Uh, literally ALL of this appeals to me.

i don't mind assumed cr/handwaving/timeskips but i loooove playing out all the cute shippy stuff, ugh, so cute! i need a cute backstory to fully enjoy my ships.

the best shipping partner for me is one that loves talking about all the cute shit we played out and will play out, loves playing a bunch of dumb aus with me, and loves telling me "i saw this thing and it reminded me of our ship, PSL POTENTIAL!!!!!" even if nothing ever comes of it. my otp partner does all this and she's amazing, too bad she's been busy with rl lately but i'm glad that she's got a job now.

i wanna reminisce about their first date in our main psl, their first misunderstanding in our au psl, that one time one of our characters got a boner in front of the other one for the first time and got embarrassed about it, maybe joke about how our characters would react to current events/new video games/random tumblr posts we see, maybe talk smut/kinks, all that good shit.

fml though, rl is being a pain in the ass and i'm not motivated enough to finish icons for some of my characters or canon review right now. and i'm stubborn and don't like to use other people's icons.

I've never had anyone make me feel this way before in rp, but I've actually found someone who's making me want to drop a character I play. It sucks.

i've had that happen. it sucks.

oh, and if you don't notice that one cast/clique is dominating the group chat, you're probably part of that group.

i don't know about the nonhumans thing, more of them sounds fun in concept but some people don't know how to play it off without overusing the novelty. for example, in one game i was in, let's say this character was an electric specter (for the sake of anonymity) that corrupted video feeds whenever they tried to use the camera, but audio and text worked fine. this person always had their character respond in video no matter the post content whether it was a slice of life prompt or distress beacon solely to go [tee hee the video is all static!] instead of going audio or text. it didn't seem IC either, because the character wasn't forgetful or a troll.

it can get tiring quickly.

that's the problem, really. the fact that they so obviously didn't even try to make a decent movie. they just thought to slap on a pretty mainstream white face as the lead role and expect that the money will come pouring in, which is gradually starting to bite hollywood in the ass the more people are seeing their bullshit.

i'd say maybe this would be a lesson in them finally deciding to put more effort into these kinds of adaptations, but i'm not holding my breath anytime soon.
