Is there a way or an extension to block replurks? I have a castmate I want to keep on my timeline but she's in 4 other games and replurks every single mod plurk for all of them and I'm getting close to unfollowing just to avoid having to play whack-a-mole with the mute button every day. I just got Plurk Savior, but when I tried to add the keyword "replurks" to mute and hide them it did exactly nothing.

Out of curiosity and the novelty factor I tagged a different journal belonging to a different player, for a popular but rare character. The only other version around seems pretty active, they show up in memes often and have 800+ comments posted, the "different" one has less than 50.

Then I realised why the other one has the popularity they don't.

you know what'd be nice? a comm or a place where people who aren't getting all the tagging they want via games or memes can go and just advert for what they want.

i'd love to tag around more in memes, but the majority of chars/players i see in there are ones i've already played with and haven't really enjoyed/was dropped by, or new players who i tag out to and get no response.

i wish more people rp'd instead of just top leveling to show off barbies they don't want to play with.

someone on my timeline plays the same character in every game they app to

i think right now they're in three games with them but i've seen them app to like five in the past year. same character every time. they use some others in memes or tdms sometimes but when it comes to actually playing in games, its just this one character.

it's not a popular character so they're not depriving anyone else of playing them, they seem to be active in their games, and people seem to enjoy playing with them, so i guess they're doing something right. it's so weird though. you think they'd get sick of playing the same character over and over and over and over. not sure if i'm dealing with a soul bonder or just an extremely limited/boring person.

could just be that rp is a relatively small chunk of their leisure activities and for them it's just a thing they do with that character. i don't stick to one character for that long before moving to someone new, but i know i find it hard to play multiple characters at once these days (or even play/watch enough things to pick up as many characters as i used to) what with all the other shit i've taken on, so i just play one character in various games/memes

what are your thoughts on people who try to get certain things banned just because someone had a bad experience with them, even if those certain things really help other people and are for the most part non-lethal?

examples:
1. my friend pretended to be superman and jumped out a window to his death thinking that he could fly, superman kills!!!

2. taking this medication made me feel like shit and i dealt with headaches, insomnia, and nightmares, ban zoloft!!!

3. i got into a car accident and the seatbelt gave me a deep cut, seatbelts are dangerous!!!!

Let's say I want to use fanart for my character's icons. Should I credit the fanartist? Should I ask them for permission first?

What changes if I'm using fanart of a video game/comic book (not live action) character as a PB for my OC?

you should definitely ask. but of course, most people don't care about all the time and effort fanartists put into their work, so you usually won't see credit on fanart icons, let alone people asking for permission.

also i think it's weird to use fanart as a PB, and not acceptable to use someone else's OC as a PB for your OC.

After arguing for four months as a way of flirting, my character and another finally made out due to a game event. They almost had sex, but the resulting fail instead was much more entertaining. They'll get there eventually, but the journey is proving to be a hell of a fun ride.

I haven't rped in a long time and I've recently felt like having something small, like a thread or two, I can manage around my work, but it seems like every meme comm is full of posts without much happening in them, even if they also have many memes a day, and I feel like I don't know how rp culture works now. Is there somewhere else people look for just light, casual rp?

it's pretty much either games or bakerstreet. there are other meme comms out there, but they seem to be made up of smaller groups of mostly friends, and it can be a crap shoot as to whether you fit in with them or not. if you want something casual, your best bet is to find a sandbox game that has a very low ac and little in the way of plot. or just tag out in memes. i know it looks like a ghost town with not much happening, but as someone that follows through and finishes all my threads on there, there are others like me out there. it's just hit and miss as to whether you can get them.
