i see that particular example a lot and i've even seen it on tumblr.

seatbelts aren't meant to keep you 100% safe, dipshits. they're meant to keep you from flying through the windshield or tumbling all throughout the car.

i remember seeing somebody on tumblr say "A SEATBELT ONCE CUT SOMEONE'S ENTIRE BREAST OFF!" which i doubt is actually true but, okay, would you rather fucking die or kill your fellow passengers?

i know it's a valid concern but the pros really outweigh the cons here.

car doors can get stuck and trap you in but that doesn't mean we should ban car doors. food can get stuck in your throat and choke you but that doesn't mean we should ban food. and so on...
