i have a plurk, but i also have a very small friend list and don't actually do much planning for rp on it. i don't really know why i have it anymore, tbh. but having people who hit you up first bail is shitty, anon. i always throw up a starter knowing that it's likely i won't get tagged back, but i couldn't imagine tagging someone and then bailing. what's the point?

what kinds of characters are you interested in playing against, anon? if you're okay with animu and video games and we have characters who might mesh, i'd be happy to play with you on a meme or two!

i'm an la player, but i don't have any problem playing against video or anime, as long as the chars are compatible. i think that's also part of why things get dropped with most players. it's hard to tell what people are looking from with just the minimal preferences, and no one ever wants to put 'no anime/la/video' or 'fluff only'. everyone wants to be as welcoming as they can, but they also wind up looking picky when they don't answer what they like.

which sucks for the person tagging them, as they have no idea they're not to the other person's liking. basically, we need more damn communication in this hobby.

It also boggles my mind how easily people drop threads. Yeah, memes are low pressure, but the amount of dropped threads I see is absurd. Or people in games getting next to no tags when other popular characters get flooded. Is everyone just so burned that taking a risk and tagging someone you don't know is scarce?

I play mostly anime and games myself but I tag out to everyone regardless of canon!

I appreciate the offer nonnie c: you're super sweet. Honestly I'm probably just gonna cut back since it's a silly gripe and I should just go touch grass, but it just feels super shitty that it's like this. Questioning whether or not it's me, against some unknown prefs, if people are just flakes, if my tags aren't interesting, etc. It's a dumb thing to get anxious about yet I can't help it.

aww, thank you! you seem like a peach, yourself. ♥ and fwiw, i really doubt it's totally on you. what the above anon said re: people not plainly stating all of their prefs might not apply to you (since you said they come to you), but in cases like yours it usually amounts to the other person getting busy, overextending themselves, being more interested in talking about what-if scenarios than playing them, etc. nothing's wrong with falling into that behavior on occasion, it happens to the best of us sometimes, but it really does suck when you run into a lot of people like that all at once. :c

i hope scaling back helps you feel better, though!
