hey anons! what are the biggest, most active games right now? i've been out of rp for a long time, so everything is strange and foreign to me.

you weren't even that bad, but slowly cutting low-grade toxic and/or boring people out of a hobby that i don't spend that much time on anyway just makes my life better. so yeah, that's why i don't talk to you anymore.

not that bad, but you were still a drain on me. i'd never claim ptsd or abuse or anything, because it was mainly a matter of different personality types not working together, but yep. this. i feel a lot happier and more at peace without you around

i make up fake scenarios on here all the time, or i frame up a situation i was in years ago that has nothing to do with rp just to see what discussions it gets going. i rp on anoncomms more than i actually rp in games

most of the time i get paranoid anons commenting on how OBVIOUS! i am, or they lash out because they take it way too personally. it's kind of amazing how many people think a vague friend-problem must be about them or their buttbuddy

i wish i knew the deets behind whatever the hell you guys' drama is, because it always sounds juicy

So, let's pretend that, for whatever reason, you decide to play someone that uses a foreign language expression wrong when they're supposed to be fluent in that language (like Eli from Love Live), or has a medical condition that's written all wrong (like say, Nora Grey from Hush Hush's anemia).

Would you fix and portray those traits accurately in rp, or keep it the way it is in canon and just let everyone else that knows better wonder wtf is going on?

tbh, i'm jelly that you have a mtf or even trans friend. 99% of the trans women that i've met treated me like shit.

they either hate me because:

A. i'm "lucky" to be a woman and they think that i'm being completely ungrateful about my uterus/vagina even though i could say the same shit to them (but i won't because it's fucking rude and a little transphobic),

B. cis lesbians will throw themselves at trans men like me but not them (NEWS FLASH: IT'S TRANSPHOBIC TOWARDS US TRANS MEN EVEN IF THERE ARE SOME TRANS MEN WHO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF IT),

C. i'm "not really trans" because it's acceptable for women to wear pants, like wearing pants is the most important part of my fucking life,

D. they think that going on T is gonna make me this huge masculine misogynist bro asshole who's gonna bully all women with my bro-ness, or because

E. i don't like stereotypically manly things (fuck cars and sports, anime and art all the way) and am therefore appropriating transgenderness for the special snowflake points.

i've actually made ftm "friends" before but they cling to me because i'm also trans and all that they wanna talk about is transgender shit 24/7. one person told me the same god damn story about dropping his packer into the toilet like twenty fucking times when it would be a relief just to talk about the weather or tv shows. i ended up just ditching all of them because we had nothing in common and i was sick of talking about binders, packers, and vagina woes. the worst ones would be like "fuck your bigoted family, you should be out and proud and tell them to go fuck themselves until they accept you!" like homelessness isn't a huge possibility for me.

and with all of the toxic tucutes, i just don't feel like befriending trans (or "trans") people, period.

it feels weird to say/think this in my mid 20s, i probably come off as older with all of my transgender stress. orz

Not sure i get your issue, but when you make an entry, there's an option that reads "Comments". It says "Journal Default". click on it, go to "don't email".

This will make it so the only notifis you will get will be comments on your own comments within that entries. You won't receive a notify via email for every top-level you get, but once you tag the people who tagged your post, you will get notify of their comments (but not other people's threads)

Who are your favorite characters? Old, new or anything?

I'll start with just a few of mine: Beckett is very interesting to read, I love the dynamic of our Borderlands cast, Ecks is a fascinating OC, and House is so spot on I can hear the actor's voice in his tags.

tbh your best bet is to do it as it's done in canon. people can wonder all they want, but i doubt they'd bring it up icly (and if they do, it could be entertaining). for a character like eli you could probably cut down on the foreign language if it drives you nuts, since it's more like a catchphrase than anything else, though.

anyone have tips on playing deaf/mute/blind characters? how would they deal with networks? general stuff? tropes/ableist stuff to keep away from?

depends on how steadfast it is. like is it definitely mentioned repeatedly it's anemia? if not, go for a misdiagnosis. if they're "supposed to be" good at a language, could you assume that they aren't REALLY and they're just playing up their fluency? some expressions aren't easy to get in other languages, too, but in places like japan in particular english and french are used in strange ways and i've met people who were fluent who phrased things oddly in both languages.

i guess i'd prefer to stick to canon, but it depends on leg room. i'd also consult with castmates how they feel, that might actually help me on my decision? if i'm solo i'd probably definitely stick to canon, though, because it could be a turn-off for prospective castmates!

new flatview anon and i'm sorry. this makes me deeply sad and honestly, i think it has a lot to do with ingrained male privilege for some. even in becoming a man you were still a woman and women don't matter (unless they were men or are men dressed like them). like the more i hang out with lgbtq people the more i realize how deep internalized misogyny is, more than like american pie college frat guys from the early 00s.
