What do you guys think of a comm (anon enabled, of course) dedicated entirely to character advice? I imagine it wouldn't fill up as quickly as anoncomm usually does, so people wouldn't have to go searching for advice for their character in past entries or accidentally ask for advice that was given to someone else a month or two ago.

Besides having threads for different fandoms and specific characters that people could easily access, there could be sections where people say things like "I'm interested in playing a character with X, Y and Z attributes. Does anyone know a character that fits the description?" and... things like that. Good idea? Bad idea?

I most likely wouldn't consider a game on LJ unless a game had a damn good premise and a cast for me. But even then, LJ still won't get my money so I'd use the account trick on an account or two, depending on the character.

i received three very passionate, profanity-laced, manic messages all in a row from someone who was literally devastated that i'd chosen to ship my character (A) with character B and not character C. they weren't in the game itself, nor were they another fellow rper. they were just a random person from some random corner of the internet who had found the game/threads and apparently Stanned hardcore for C. highlights of the messages were them calling my character a bitch, whore, etc and begging for all interaction to cease between A and C because they were so upset. they sent this only to me, not the mun of character B or C (the latter of whom had no problem whatsoever with the ship i was playing out with B).

after i responded basically along the lines of 'wow what is wrong with you' they began backpedaling really hard and told me that they were bipolar and way too emotionally invested in C and then begged for my forgiveness for flipping out on me (i found the whole thing fucking hilarious from start to finish and still do).

it's by far the weirdest thing that's ever happened to me in rp.

RPers who post pictures of their children on their plurks like they're posting pictures of their pets make me side-eye so hard.

Yeah, it's great that you think your kid is cute, but they're also a human being, not your pet or toy or plaything.

Maybe people no longer think anything of posting someone's picture without their consent, but if someone posted a picture of me sleeping without giving me a chance to say yes or no about it being shared with the world, I'd be fucking pissed off.

And whether or not a parent can just disregard their child's wishes or ignore the fact that the kid might not want a bunch of strangers gawking at them doesn't make it any more right for them to do so.

Black on white is just so blinding for me, especially when I'm up late staring at the computer screen.
