Same anon as last post but at least I've decided on a canon point of 1-2 years post-first game. Mostly I'm trying to figure out how to integrate him into the "canon" ending, considering he doesn't even make an appearance until the later extra endings. But personality tips are great too.

Yay, more Ellis RPers!

Ellis is not too complex a person and, honestly, what you play depends on whether you take the games at their humorous face value, or you dig in real deep to what the world is like.

Ellis is a cheerful freakin' guy. He won't give up hope or trying to lighten the mood, not for a long time. He is the kind of person who's very hard to wear down. Even at The Parish, where this really is their last chance for military evacuation, he's still got his stories and his upbeat attitude.

He's also pretty gullible. In The Passing, he talks about how awesome Francis is, and then Nick tells him (for no reason but to shut Ellis up, probably) that Francis was eyeing Jimmy Gibbs Jr's car. Ellis turns around about Francis and says now that he is a "dead man".

With that and his general obliviousness, he could be construed as stupid, but he is not. One could argue that he just ignores the irritations of life, or one could argue that he just doesn't feel them like someone else would. He's a little bit naive in that he's pretty simple, and then there's that gullibility, but he knows what sex and violence are. He's not that sort of naive.

As for why he's not stupid, well, he's a mechanic and he thinks on his feet pretty well. He's no planner, but he could implement complicated orders if someone else thought them up.

And lastly, on his stories. That is, honestly, the hardest part about playing him. Remember that Ellis exaggerates for the sake of a good story. When Keith fell under his mower, when they were doing home-made bumper cars? Probably just got his foot stuck and chopped up. When he tried to deep-fry a turkey, got burns over 90% of his body? Probably just his arm. Try to come up with new stuff and finish his old stuff, if you can. There will be chances to finish his stories in RP, so having ends is necessary.

To get his voice and its cadence down, I just listened to a lot of youtube videos of his voice. It saturated me pretty well.

So who knows how far fetched his stories actually are.

Oh, hmm, this is true. Those are some pretty impressive blasts! I figured he just spilled grease or something, which is pretty nasty, but considering those fires... hm.

Still, one could take it in either direction. Ellis's stories are not only farfetched, they're lacking some detail, so you can go into the nuances yourself.

He looks interesting to play. Any tips?

Anyone have some advice on a younger Gohan? Specifically around the Android to Cell Saga side of things. I'm canon reviewing and all that, but it's been years since I've really been in this fandom, so I feel a bit over my head!

I'm worried about his voice in particular, word choice and sentence structure and all that, but I'll take anything. :)
