I am extending this to Eridans who overuse fish puns. HE CANONICALLY COMPLAINS ABOUT IT. HE USES THEM IN MAYBE TWO CONVERSATIONS.

I think the important distinction is that Karkat considers it his job to calm Gamzee's shit now, but he doesn't consider him his best friend anymore. Also, note, when Kanaya was gonna go and fuckin' waste him, Karkat wasn't like "YOU CAN'T DO THAT, HE'S MY BUD." he was like "DON'T DO THAT, IT'S DANGEROUS."

Just because they're moirails doesn't mean Karkat still likes the guy.

I expected this to get trolled and it did. Sorry I ship something different? What Hussie did wasn't true to the characters. Are you forgetting Gamzee killed Equius and Nepeta? Why would Karkat just ignore that?

Karkat obviously became moirails with Gamzee because he had to, which is selling out the characters. Before Hussie decided he was a boring invincible villain, Kanaya was able to fight him perfectly fine. It's not right that Gamzee doesn't have to pay for what he did, no matter what Hussie says because Gamzee is his favorite character now.

Kanaya and Karkat have so much more between them. And I understand moirallegience just fine? Like Hussie has ever been consistent about troll romance?

I cant believe Karkat<>Kanaya players get judged for playing it out when the canon ship came out of nowhere and sells out Karkat and Kanaya as characters.

Yo. Read the entire thread, get where you're coming from, here to tell you that you totally misunderstood troll romance.

The moirail is obliged to pacify the other, to function as the better half.

The two partners in a strong pale relationship will serve to balance and complement each other's emotional profiles, and thus allow their other relationships to be more successful.

Karkat<>Kanaya does not fit the emotional profile of a good moirallegiance at all because hey get this:

Neither of them are irrationally dangerous.

Some are more hot-tempered and dangerous than others, to the extent that if left to their own devices, they would present a serious threat to society, or even to themselves.

Such trolls will have an instinctive pale attraction to a more even-tempered troll, who may become their MOIRAIL.

A reasonable human translation would be the concept of a soul mate, but in a more platonic sense, and with a more specific social purpose.

A moirail isn't a platonic soul bro that you talk out your shit to. A moirail is the person who will slap you and call you a grumpy motherglubber if your shit is twisted. They have a SPECIFIC SOCIAL PURPOSE which oh my god why do people gloss over that?

A moirail's job is not to sort out your emotional problems.

It is to stop you from going axe-happy on society.

It is to stop you from being a danger to yourself.

Rainbow Drinker Kanayas who never drink blood. Worse, Kanayas who are ACTIVELY REPULSED by the concept of drinking bood. (Yes, I have seen this. I don't want to highlight the poor thing but, fuck, I've seen it and it's horrible.) Before she was a rainbow drinker? She tasted HER OWN DEAD MOTHER'S BLOOD. After she was a rainbow drinker? She drank blood three separate times. I can understand not wanting to play it out all the time or anything, but at least handwave it.

The assumption that "boring ship" = "bad ship" that I've seen a couple times. I'm not gonna begrudge anybody for shipping what they want, but I see no appeal in shipping drama and I like boring ships cause you can just. Play out stuff like dates where the characters are happy and enjoy each other's company as a nice break from the constant stream of bullshit that comes packaged with most DWRP games and also with y'know being a character from MS Paint Adventures.

My pet peeve? People getting really fucking furious about ships. Any ship, for any reason. If you feel they're OOC, look for the development or bring them your concerns. If they get in the way of your ship, sit your ass down and let people like things you don't like.

Oh, so she's still Terezi, but you made her brown-blooded and therefore able to communicate with her dragon, assuming you didn't really halfass it and give her Tinkerbull against all common sense?
