rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Agreed. I've seen a few players actually do interesting things with the rdv characters. But the canon itself is really uncreative and overrated.

i like RDV. it's violetesence that's a pile of shit. on its own, RDV is pretty great.

I agree about violetesence, but I think rdv is just mediocre. The plot is interesting and so are some of the blood swaps but a lot of them are so uncreative.

you've got to remember that RDV is old, relatively speaking. it was started around mid-2010, when bloodswaps weren't really heard of and the idea hadn't been beaten to death. you're calling it uncreative because bloodswaps abound in fandom now- but when RDV was started, they didn't.

RDV's age even shows in the story itself- aradia is portrayed a lot like her dead/robot self because it was begun before we ever learned what she was like alive. i enjoy RDV because it was one of the first. nowadays, okay, maybe it's not done nearly as well or as detailed or thought-out as other bloodswaps, but it did what it did well, and other writers have since improved on the formula.

I'm not very fond of RDV, but I'll admit it has a certain likability to it (I unironically enjoyed the log between Kanaya and Crabsprite, but that's about it).

Still don't wanna see the characters in games.

I like some of the characters but RDV as a whole is meh to me.
