I have to say, I kind of agree, and this is speaking as someone who actually used to watch the G1 cast back when they were in Cape and Cowl

Not actually IN either game, just a stalker. Though now stalking less, for reasons that will become ovious.

Back in Cape and Cowl they had a lot of character development and went through some really awful stuff together. The absence of a Megatron, Starscream's terrible leadership skills, all the crazy stuff that went down in that game, it made sense that Soundwave and Shockwave became more emotional. They still stayed in character, but they just went through some interesting character development that gave them depth different than their original selves.

I can't say much about Skyfire as I didn't watch that as much? I do remember him being briefly involved with Starscream but the two players surprising me by having them never quite manage a healthy relationship and then break up pretty violently...? If I'm remembering right anyway.

But it feels like ever since they came to Singularity it's like... nothing of what made them interesting in Cape and Cowl stayed. It's all weird emotional soap opera drama. That stuff existed in CnC, but it was always tempered by, y'know, actual Transformers G1 stuff. Wacky schemes to take over the city foiled at the last moment by one of them being a complete moron or by one of the heroes stepping in. Here, maybe because of the way Singularity works as a game, I dunno, but they never do any of that. They just sit around, and Soundwave buttfucks Shockwave, and for some reason they're in a threesome with Skyfire, which, I'm sorry, I know Soundwave and Skyfire's players are together in real life, but this is really the sort of IC relationship which shouldn't happen outside of a musebox. I never remember their characters being that close in CnC (maybe I wasn't paying attention...? I was really in it for Waspinator tbh), and the way it's developed in Sing just... it just makes no sense at all.

Anyway point is, ALL I see from that cast is weird relationship issues that go on for over a hundred comments and sometimes completely derail posts. It's gotten to the point that I'm probably just going to stop reading their stuff. Which is fine, I guess, don't read it if you don't like it, but I have to say, this cast has fallen a long way from being one of the best TF casts in RP-land.

to be honest, the only problem with the transformers cast is probably the ratchet. the rest are pretty IC, afaic.

Erik-mun? You may not tag into everything or everyone, but when you do tag, it's always IC and a great read. I think people in general need to stop getting butt-hurt when a certain character won't tag with them. Just because you don't have CR with a certain character doesn't mean you can't enjoy their threads with other characters. And frankly, if the mun doesn't want to tag with you, the CR probably wouldn't be all that good to begin with since it would probably come off as forced. Erik isn't exactly a social butterfly, so I don't think it's unreasonable that he mostly speaks privately.

Homestuck cast? I don't get why people hate on you. You aren't cliquey, most of your posts are open and fun, and you tag all over the place. Not everyone has to find you interesting or even funny, but I don't see why anyone would hate on you just for playing. It's not exactly difficult to avoid someone in RP. And besides, I personally find most of you hilarious and awesome.

Transformers cast? I'm not familiar with the canon at all, so I don't know if people saying your characters are OOC actually have any merit, but I don't think it generally matters so long as no one is being beaten over the head with it and you guys are all having fun. Plus that's the kind of thing people should bring up in HMDs.

All in all, it pisses me off when people will make snide remarks in rpanons rather than give concrit in the HMDs that almost everyone has. It's like one person says something negative and suddenly everyone else jumps on the hate wagon and decides that while everyone is complaining about one thing, this might be a good time to bring up something else that they dislike.

I can't stop anyone from stating their opinions, but I sure as hell can state mine too. This is the best game I've ever played, and with rare exception, it has some of the best players I've ever played with.

Drudging up an old dead horse, but, I wish that AUs either get their rules massively rewritten or basically just turned into "We will deal with AUs on a case by case basis" or just saying "We don't accept non-canon character AUs". There's still massive problems with this game that I want to be solved, but I know that if I try to bring it to the mods it'll get brushed underneath like all the rest.

So...I'm just going to leave these happy things over here.

I absolutely adore our Avengers and growing DC casts~ Everything you guys post make me giggle inside.

Keep doing what you're doing and I seriously look forward to Space Prom II and anything any or all of you might be doing.


Also: I know we keep saying it, but I'm going to say it again, we have the most amazing OCs. I wish I could scoop all of you guys up and just express how awesome you are through hugging. I cannot, so accept these tiny hearts in lieu of my ability to accost you with my love: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.


And, lastly, AU characters: I'm sorry you guys get so much guff. It's a fine line, navigating between the canon we love and the creative what-if versions we can come up with, and making a character really work in a panfandom setting is really hard. I'm sorry everyone seems so upset about where that line is drawn, but every one of the AUs I've seen in this game are solid and interesting, at the very least.
