I wish people would mention what media they prefer tagging them in memes sometimes. Sure, I know I can just tag whoever I want, but it would be nice to know if a person is completely okay with me throwing an anime or comic character at them when they're playing LAs and vice versa immediately.

Speaking just as someone who always reads over the medium divide threads here and on wg because I find the phenomenon weirdly fascinating.... there is at LEAST an equal amount of anime players who chime in every single time to talk about how they hate LA and won't tag it because everyone looks the same and has the same personality so idk where you're getting the idea that la players are the only ones with a preference. It can't possibly be from reading these comms.

In every single thread where this kind of blanket statement comes out, the anime portion of the medium dividers (meaning people who actually partake in ignoring cross-medium cr) are AT LEAST half of the responders if not more. I think it's because, surprise surprise, anime makes up a strong 80% of the in-game casts on DW. Most of the live action players I know also watch/know about anime, but the reverse isn't as prevalent. Nobody says "live action characters only" in the kinks you want to play thread, but anime/drawn pbs are a pretty normal requirement.

The only advantage LA players have is they play all the cocks that are popular hopping spots, and I would argue that those players don't necessarily find it an advantage.

it's not their faces that are icky, though. it's using them for porn without their permission. literally no one has ever said that real people's faces are icky

which in the context of 'i can't smut with-' comes down to icky faces. not to mention i've frequently seen people use the excuse that everyone looks the same and they can't tell real life actors apart because apparently there are too many weebs with prosopagnosia or some shit. voice actors didn't agree to play porn either. animators didn't agree for their art to be used for pornographic scenarios. that argument is bullshit (especially when at least half the characters played are ones used in sex scenes/love scenes in their canon, which happens more in la canons than in anime outside of hentai porn)

it's totally not bullshit? we aren't reusing voice acting clips here and repurposing them for porn and if you can't see how it would be a hell of a lot more disturbing to find someone using YOUR FACE for kinky rp than it would be to find them using your art/fanart you must have some kind of mental problem.

you're using the same 100x100 image of your char's face as la people are. and smutting tentacle sex. and there's a difference between someone that is an actual actor and a cosplayer, along with the fact it's still an image of a character that isn't you doing something you want them to. this argument is pathetic. what if you used a porn star? does that make it okay? what if it's a scene in a movie where they have their dick/boobs out? you're more likely to have nude/sexual scenarios in la than in anime that's not hentai. either way, you're taking someone else's art/face and doing sexual scenarios with them. whether it's art or a face doesn't matter. one isn't magically 'better' because you're using art and not a picture. it's still a bullshit argument, but keep trying to feel superior in your weebness.

i don't think it's better or worse, I think it makes ME uncomfortable to imagine how that person might feel and therefore i can't/won't smut with LA. you're really defensive.
