rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

that's a really dumb line to draw. fanart of derek eating out stiles' ass is drawn representation of shit people play out, but it's also drawn and isn't real face attached to anything. how is fanart of la characters any different than fanart of anime or comic chars? it's still warping the canon of something. that applies to rp. it's all fake. you're doing that thing where you're getting offended on behalf of someone else. where is this line drawn? rp? fanfiction? fanart? anything not strictly canon? i'd think that artists would be more pissed someone's copying their art that they drew by their own hand and doing porn with it than someone taking a 100x100 icon of someone's face and writing words they didn't say with that picture attached.

it's all fantasy. we're all on a site to play it. trying to say one is better than the other is just asinine and tbh, the whole creepy eww real face attitude is why there's a medium divide in the first place. it's all fucking fake. using rl as some kind of 'well my fake is better fake because it's not anywhere close to rl fake' is making excuses for why you don't like the thing and can't separate from ic/ooc.

and you're damn right i'm invested. it's one thing if you don't want to play against me as an la player. whether you don't like the canon or the char or whatever, that's fine. i don't expect everyone to. i dislike anime. but it crosses a line into personal territory when you're basically calling someone a pervert for playing smut with la chars vs anime. eww live face? look, just don't play against la. don't be a dick and try to make it about a superiority complex thing. that's where i take it personally.

all we're doing is explaining why we won't do it, oh my god. you can still do the thing! completely dismissing people who say they can't/won't and calling them weebs is idiotic, though. it is a legitimate reason to not want to smut with la (and has nothing to do with the ic/ooc line wtf?) and i'm sorry you're so pressed about it.

literally no one has said explicit fan art of la is less potentially inflammatory than written fic/rp. and this has fuckall to do with what's canon, so i don't know where you're getting that idea from.

[someone is attaching a 100x100 icon of a character you drew to explicit roleplay of that character (or maybe a different one) eating another character's ass] vs [someone is attaching a 100x100 icon of your face to explicit roleplay of the character (you played, or maybe you didn't) eating another character's ass]

i'm not excusing people who want to make an ass of themselves trying to claim moral superiority or whatever, that's also bullshit and they should be personally addressed for it, but there's no need to make a delusional-sounding ass of yourself by accusing everyone who'd rather pass on the potential discomfort in the latter situation of being out of touch with reality.

like grow some thicker skin, maybe? i don't know what to tell you except that i play la too and literally could not care less if random anons think that's gross or whatever. if it's someone you know who's doing this medium divide bullshit, take it to them.
