overwatcher here. i haven't seen that (though i don't go digging in lucio's tag on tumblr or anything). the main problem i see re: lucio is his almost invisibility in porn. sadly, this is a thing that happens to black characters on the regular in fandom.

OTOH, reaper gets tons of porn. he's a dark-skinned latino. though not everyone draws him looking like that, because dying-cells whatever.

being Brazilian doesn't mean he's any less black, so idk why some people would say he's not black. Central and South America are chock full of black people who intermixed with Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous tribes, but it doesn't change that they're black or of African descent.

tumblr is ridiculously ameri-centric and have a very very narrow view of what countries have black populations

just look at how little they fail to understand egypt's racial make-up

I play a lot of video game characters and often the official art/using game screen caps looks like SHIT. Or even if it isn't, it's not at all a suitable range of expression that I need. Lately I've been caring more about how the consistency of my icons look rather than if they're from ~official sources~ or not. That and the character might be described as some very serious grizzled old guy but the official art/game screens makes them look like a cross-eyed anime twink or something. Which is dumb.

I try to credit where I can on the icon descriptions. some really old icons I made years ago before I started putting where I found them in the filename will just be lost to the ages. I feel bad about it, since I'm also an artist. if I don't know I just put "unknown" or "pm with source" or something. I wouldn't mind if someone wanted to use my art as an icon for dwrp, so long as they don't claim they drew it... or edit it to the point it's completely unrecognizable. (you may want to consider using another source image if it needs to be edited that much.) if it's an eye/hair color change or cleaning up sketch lines or taking out speech bubbles or something i don't care. i do that once in a while as needed.

it's hilarious but also sad how little would-be sj slacktivisits understand about the world outside of their american bubble. lucio doesn't fit whatever stereotypes of african americans they have conjured up, so he's not "coded black" or "black enough", nevermind that he's neither african nor american.

funny thing is that "eyptians aren't ACTUALLY BLACK" is a bullshit argument that racists through the years have used in order to justify white people jerking it to eyptian culture and history and lumping its "civilization" in with western countries for years. they're just doing the same thing coming at it from the other side.

I think I would know Nora's fart anywhere. I think I could pick hers out in a roomful of farting women. It is a rather girlish noise not like the wet windy fart which I imagine fat wives have. It is sudden and dry and dirty like what a bold girl would let off in fun in a school dormitory at night. I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also.

It might still be something you want to do! I think my issue is mostly that small non-profits by necessity need all their staffers to do admin work. If you work at the ACLU or whatever, they have assistants for that.

i can understand if the dub is really shitty but saying you're going to boycott a game and hoping it fails and further releases don't get localized? purely because it's dub only audio? jesus christ
