rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. he might be mixed with african-something but he's not "full black" so no he wouldn't be "coded black" even if you think he does "look black"

which was another point I was going to bring up but couldn't figure out how to word it the right way

being Brazilian doesn't mean he's any less black, so idk why some people would say he's not black. Central and South America are chock full of black people who intermixed with Spanish, Portuguese, and indigenous tribes, but it doesn't change that they're black or of African descent.

tumblr is ridiculously ameri-centric and have a very very narrow view of what countries have black populations

just look at how little they fail to understand egypt's racial make-up

Even though Egypt is in Africa and "Arabic" is too broad a brush to paint over a country with as long a history and diverse a culture as Egypt...

funny thing is that "eyptians aren't ACTUALLY BLACK" is a bullshit argument that racists through the years have used in order to justify white people jerking it to eyptian culture and history and lumping its "civilization" in with western countries for years. they're just doing the same thing coming at it from the other side.

well, they're not black, but they're certainly not white. they're mediterranean, so they're still poc.

most egyptians/north africans identify as black, anon. mind you, those are generally migrants. idk how natives fall.

so he's probably a mixture of native american, african, and european heritage, but he might not even be of mostly-african descent

it's hilarious but also sad how little would-be sj slacktivisits understand about the world outside of their american bubble. lucio doesn't fit whatever stereotypes of african americans they have conjured up, so he's not "coded black" or "black enough", nevermind that he's neither african nor american.

yeah this is what i meant, for the anon who thought i was trying to say lucio isn't black... he is but through the eyes of a lot of fandom? he isn't. because of reasons already stated
