LAPTOPS WITHOUT CLICKPADS?

I'm in the market for a new laptop and I'm specifically looking for one without a ClickPad i.e. a touchpad without separate mouse buttons. They look nice but they're absolute hell to use but finding laptops with the old fashioned touch pads is downright impossible these days.

Anyone have any recs? I like Toshiba, ASUS, and Sony laptops best but I'm pretty desperate.

I have a Lenovo ThinkPad and part of what I like about it is how sturdy it is. It has the separate buttons on the trackpad, but you can still configure it to do tap to click as well. Best of both worlds.

IMO, the geek subculture has provided a somewhat-safe space for many men who have been snubbed by the rest of society, where they are not expected to prove their value to each other by carving notches in a bedpost or exemplifying traditional masculine traits. The increase in mainstream appeal and female participation over the past decade or so threatens the safety and exclusivity of this space, and the backlash from male geeks is a somewhat-predictable response to the invasion of their space.

Tried to blame to blame me for their supposed "suicide attempt" when I told them I didn't consider them a friend and didn't want anything to do with them.

They were a creepy, sleazy, obsessive, openly racist, bigoted asshole. Their plan backfired because I didn't care what they did to themselves at all. To be honest, though, I don't believe they ever truly made the attempt. Nothing will convince me that they were anything but a pathological liar.

ITT: weird things you thought about/day dreamed as a child

When I was little (7-10ish?) I used to have these weird thoughts at night in bed where I pretended I was part of a society that during the night soldiers would come into people's houses and check to see if everyone was covered in blankets up to their necks. If they weren't all tucked up, they're shoot and kill anyone who wasn't and go on to the next house. So I'd curled up in my blankets up to my chin and pretend that was happening until I fell asleep. Sometimes I would also pretend I had a kid I had to hide under the blankets until the check was over (I was married to my tv crush of course, around that time it was probably.... Vegeta?) and if she or he made any noise they would shoot us both.

I'm American and I didn't grow up during the Cold War or anything that would have influenced me to think about weird military state-like issues so I've always found it really weird when I remember doing it. I'm pretty sure it's why I started sleeping hugging a pillow, I still feel a little insecure when I don't. It feels oddly good to talk about it though.
