Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

i want to make a city game, that is connected to all FF game worlds. the idea would be that other characters who aren't from canon can pick a world, have powers/abilities added onto what they already have based on what is there.

sort of like kingdom hearts, i've been wanting to do the idea for long, but idk if anyone would even like that.

Not quite sure what you're saying. You want a game where there's a central city everyone is stationed in and from which they can travel to every FF world? And characters who aren't from Final Fantasy would pick a FF world to AU into?

i've always liked the idea of a FF based game. except i don't know a good way to describe what i mean with this except i think this is a bit too broad.

the idea in theory sounds interesting and having people able to choose from all FF worlds powers wise leaves a lot of options. sometimes having so many options is too much and can be really overwhelming. especially if you take into account people who aren't too canon familiar and find themselves feeling like they have to do a whole ton of research on the subject.

that's my two cents on it at least.

OP of that idea here. I'm still working on it - there are a LOT of info pages to write and I'm also working on making all the monster types somewhat balanced (as in, none are just objectively more fun/powerful than the rest and none are really unappealing even if different people will have favorites).

March and April are also busy school months, so I think sometime in May would be a good estimate of when I'll have something to show and I may ask for more feedback here before then if I hit a dilemma.

Glad you're still interested, though!

So original M/M anon here. Life swallowed me up for a while, but I was wondering if there was anyone still floating around interested in this now that summer will be upon us soon. Most especially anyone interested in modding, willing to look over apps, and the like.

While going over a list of things I'd really like to see in a sex game, I think I accidentally a sex game.

Basic premise is a positive reward sex game featuring aliens doing government funded research in an effort to find a cure for their own sterility. Features include, getting bonuses for having sex, not being penalized for not having sex (maybe an alternate bonus set for intimate, non-sexual relationships, idk), and uh. permadeath. (hey, the aliens are studying life and reproduction, not doing autopsies, ok, don't be that guy)

This is a vague idea right now, so I'm mostly gauging interest/looking to see if anybody's willing to throw ideas back and forth with me and do co-modding

obligatory non-trolling question springboarding off But What Are Your Thoughts About The Yaois here, if the effort's specifically to find a cure for a lack of fertility rather than a lack of sexuality then how are they going to see same-sex relations, or sex between infertile people or ones with different biology? definitely a case to be made for any sexual activity to be worth studying (and for the non-sexual intimacy to be useful as far as developing interest/courting/etc) but if you end up with a lot of couplings that have nothing to do with reproduction how is that gonna go if it's the focus of their research? pregnancy encouraged, y/n? (assuming yes with that premise)

i know it's still a vague idea BUT just stuff it made me wonder about. it might be harder to do but it'd also be really cool to see this with voluntary ic involvement in the project.

This will 100% never happen because I know there'll never be enough interest and I have no experience in moderating, but I've always wanted to make a game based on the Wild ARMs video game series. Of course, my original intention was to have a small cast of OCs for a "spinoff" kind of game following a set storyline, but now I'm wondering about the logistics of a panfandom game set in a hodgepodge of the different WA universes.

there was someone a while back who wanted to make a wild arms-set rp too. i don't remember if it was going to be au or not, but characters would basically get to travel and take up small missions and the like, have adventures, etc etc. it never took off and idk what happened to that person, but i still would love to see an rp set in the wild arms verse.

has anyone ever tried a game where characters on arrival are sorted into factions and forced to fight each other? i had an idea for a game where characters are brought in to a city by two (potentially three) different criminal groups (mafia essentially) and made junior members as fodder for the turf war over the city. i'm curious if it's been done before.

a problem with this setting though is how to force people to fight for whatever side hired them in, though. i was also kind of not wanting to do a network, but if there was one, there would be one per faction, so the only way to build cr with people on another side would be through logs.

There was a war game with three (or four? I forget) different countries/factions on livejournal a few years back called conscripted.

A mafia turf war sounds like fun though.

Siren's Pull had the turf war but not the conscription part - which I think would have been really hard to pull off given the uncooperative nature of dwrp characters, and also kind of weird to explain. Like, oh, we control interdimensional abduction technology, we're going to use it semi-randomly to get minor grunts. I mean, I get that a lot of premises are contrived, but that feels like too much.

Personally I always wanted a faction game with like, 5-9 smaller, unequal factions, and the balancing came from alliances making and breaking and generally asymetrical power balances were frequent but not stable, rather than well-matched juggernauts with a status quo. It would be even harder to pull off in dwrp though.

I got really far into planning a factions-based game but I was trying to fit too many concepts into one game so it got ridiculously unwieldy.

The basic idea was that the barriers between worlds were thin, and so people randomly turned up in [game world], all over the place - and since they often had special powers or abilities they were like sought after resources. So while characters weren't immediately forced from the beginning, the factions would all want a piece of them and be REALLY pushy about promoting their particular team/mafia group/etc.

Having each faction have a control of a portion of the city was another thing I was thinking of - there was no "neutral" area, and no law enforcement, so choosing a faction was a good way to get yourself safe and un-harrassed.

I think it would be interesting to have three factions, each with their own ideologies (maybe only purported) and methods - the sort of "robin hood" faction for more do-gooder types, the orderly but extensive criminal empire for Lawful folks, and the more chaotic, anarchic gang-type thing for characters that want to be loosely aligned but do their own thing?

how long has it been since there was a hogwarts game? i feel like it's been a while. it'd crash and burn but i'd love it anyway, just let people app (either strictly au or strictly canon with some magic experiment gone wrong), mods sort them accordingly based on app, draw up the class schedules and players sign characters up for classes, have at it.

SOL and maybe some underlying plot depending on when the game's set and player interests. a crash and burn game inevitably but all the same
