I want to take an extended break from rp, but I mod a game and don't want to shut it down on my player base. Feels bad.

A is a woman who is a famous, respected, powerful figure in a given field (could be business, could be something artistic like film or dance)

B is a young starlet, an up-and-comer whose lifelong dream is to make it big in said field.

A and B meet, A holds the keys to B's success, but makes it absolutely clear that the only way she's going to help her is if B sleeps with her as much and as often as A wants. B reluctantly agrees, only to find that A is manipulative, abusive, and selfish.

Can do an orientation play version where B is straight, or have B familiar with sex with other women but just obviously not liking the abuse.

If you use just his unscarred side, Jonah Hex.

If you don't mind a much less horrifying scar, this one across his eye, use Grimjack. You'll find two versions, one an older man with black hair, named John Gaunt, the other a younger one with red hair, by the name of Jim Twilley. They're the same guy, reincarnation's involved, but the redhead has plenty of expressions to snatch up.

For someone a bit more famous, but unscarred, go for John Constantine. Specifically the Vertigo run. A lot of that has him cleanshaven, but a lot of it has him unshaven, and he'll probably be less instantly recognizable than the newer comics. Also, the Vertigo run had him age in real time, so he was in his 50s or 60s by the time the final issue rolled around. And as time rolled on, it just became harder for him to look well-groomed.

I guess I'm sorta a dissenting opinion, I guess, but honestly not really?

Like I absolutely do 100% think writing chemistry is a thing. Two people can be good writers and have meh chemistry whereas two other people can have crazy chemistry.

BUT. I do think some of what gets attributed to "chemistry" is just some people not being very good writers.

Like, it's one thing to have differing priorities/goals for a thread and something else when the other person just has straight-up zero reading comprehension, either for my tags or the original source material. It's one thing to have reasonable but differing interpretations of a character and another thing to just be wildly OOC.

I do still think chemistry is a thing though. It's just not always the reason some people may not mesh.
