I'm in the middle of my workday, but I've already notified my comod of my thoughts regarding this and future infodrops of toxic players in the community.

In the interests of transparency, I'm going to freeze the thread so that it doesn't turn into a dragfest of the players in that plurk. I'm gonna ask you all to please don't turn the LA toplevel into a wankfest of its playerbase, either.

i just want to thank the mods for allowing the info to stay up when people were insisting it was going to be deleted outright and that we're not allowed to talk about this kind of thing on rpa.

turns out we are, it's just the rpa mods are actually interested in keeping discussions from devolving into wankfests. works for me.

i don't play in this game, but i know if it came out the mods of the game i do play in were behaving like this, i would hope my fellow players would hold them accountable for it. i'm not going to drag anyone who doesn't, but i really strongly recommend y'all actually bring this up to them as a group, because it seems unlikely this is the only person they've done this with.

It's not the only player. Posted DEETs are a great example of how they act including keeping it private so that people don't know that they're doing it.
Not sure how many they've bullied but I know of a few. I had no idea about the one that was posted and I'm sure there's more that I don't know about. Ones I know have moved on and don't want to get dragged into wank.

lifeaftr players i saw y'all in a plurk just the other day bragging about how drama-free your game is and how anyone with a problem with it must be a wanker themselves. this information combined with that attitude is a horrible look and i am very sure most of y'all don't want it associated with you.

talk to your mods.

I didn't see the plurk but in fairness to them I think most of the player-base probably had no idea. Some definitely did. Others were probably completely clueless that anything like this was happening and did think the game was drama free. I feel bad for the ones who didn't know suddenly finding out something like this. Probably really jarring.

isn't the game ending soon? they'll probably feel like there's no point now. personally i'd grit my teeth and hold on until the ride is over, then blacklist tf out of the mods

a mass exodus of people stating specifically that they're dropping because of mod behavior would be amazing, and probably drive the point home to the mods better than anything else would

this is not going to happen because they have been amazing and thoughtful mods to their actual playerbase. they've handled issues privately, among the people that were involved, because... that's the adult, responsible thing to do.

they (or in this case, zero) have acknowledged that they handled this particular instance badly and if that player ever chooses to be in contact with them they would offer a sincere apology. what are the people who are circulating this now, with socks and on anon, actually trying to achieve here?

they only admitted that after caps were released and people confronted them, so it seems like something was achieved after all. as for the plurk going around right now, i'd say awareness and transparency are the motives. even the sock anons aren't really calling for a witch hunt, they're just stating the facts and making people aware, especially since there's a new game in the works.

if they still can't say "i wouldn't have done anything" at this point, then the problem still exists. it deserves to be talked about.

As a further head's up, check out the wankgate Lifeaftr thread for all the relevant deets on the interest check and Arrpee's victim blaming and backpedaling before the plurk was deleted.

Highly recommend people steer clear of this trashfire.
