1. as an anon with chronic illnesses, i get a lot of dumb "i googled this" suggestions, especially from a relative of mine who insists that i, a fucking computer whiz, shouldn't believe everything i read on the internet. she acts like i've never tried googling my health problems before for ways to treat them. she'll whine at me about how i should try this or that, but then she gives me shit because i bought a product that helps but doesn't cure it. "why'd you waste your money on it then?" because... it's better than nothing? there's no fucking cure yet and treatment =/= cure!

another relative brainwashed her into thinking that "marijuana cures everything!" so now i get to deal with both of them whining at me to 420 BLAZE IT because my medications have SERIOUS SIDE EFFECTS, big pharma, wah wah wah. now, i'm all for legalizing it, but i have my own reasons for not wanting to smoke weed. like the fact that i can't fucking afford it, the fact that i don't like the taste/smell, the fact that i need to find another job soon and don't want to fail a drug test... fuck off, guys, seriously.

i'm dreading the day when these guys finally turn anti-vaxxer and tell me i should avoid those dirty, dirty needles and rub snake oil all over my skin instead.

2. fuck all the people on old atp who would ignore half of my prefs to suggest games to me. if i only want to join a game that's on dw, no exceptions, don't recommend something on ij. maybe your character fits well in a sex game, but the character you want me to app is the monogamous type who would be devoted to their partner. "i think your character would be fun to have!" means nothing if i don't think it would be fun.

3. sort of related to #2... if i say "recommend me something, no anime/manga though" or "recommend me anything but thatdwrpgame", don't get on my fucking ass about how i'm a big meanieface hater who's probably obsessed with the medium divide or i secretly hate a game's mods.

i don't hate anime, i'm actually a huge weeaboo and i'm trying to expand my interests to canons outside of anime. i don't hate thatdwrpgame either. maybe i've already played there, maybe it's not a good fit for me, maybe there's somebody there i don't want to deal with, maybe i keep getting it recommended to me even though it doesn't fucking fit my prefs, maybe you should shut the fuck up and mind your own business.

For fluff, how about Paradise Kiss? It's about a high school senior who runs into a group of colorful students from an art/design school and tries to find balance between the studying she has to do and the fashion modeling she wants to do. It's a manga and an anime, both are super cute, and for a Japanese canon from the early 00's it's pretty respectful of its trans/bi characters.

I like to unwind with RP, and I don't see myself stopping anytime soon when it's been my go-to hobby since high school. There seem to be a lot of anons who say shit like "They're in their thirties and they're still RPing, don't they have a household to maintain/child to raise" or "If you're 35+ and playing from a canon marketed to kids you're definitely creepy" and who needs that? All the mods care about is that I can legally view porn/violence.

They do match up. They're just called by different names.

Check out The Originals! It's a spin-off of The Vampire Diaries. Basically, the villains from TVD got their own show so all the lead characters are villain protagonists. They're a family of ancient vampires who have no problem with murdering anyone who gets in their way, but they're also fiercely protective of each other and anyone they care about. Definitely capable of positive game CR.

Lizzie Bennet Diaries. It's a modern adaptation of Pride and Prejudice that's really well done.

Drakengard 3 is the best of the lot IMO, but they're still not... super fun to play? But I agree Yoko Taro is good for putting out games where your character's motives aren't exactly clear-cut pure goodness and the villains aren't necessarily wrong.

Yeah, I think you were on the same page too. I see what you're saying about if the characters are in that area at the time too. You make a good point. It would give them a chance to influence things and trim the time sink.

I'm not really sure where everyone is either right now. There could always be a role call for locations?

If you're not sick of American politics, House of Cards might work for you. There's an English version too, but for once I think I like the American remake just as much if not more. Either one is good, and the show is all about power struggle and the importance of the minutiae, balancing PR with reality, etc.

Just as a heads up, Avira is probably one of the worst about spitting out false positives. I got rid of it after it tried to claim something I knew was 100% safe was a virus.

HoC has that too, but it deals pretty heavily with the serious so no worries if it's not your thing.

Maybe my furry is showing, but are there are other canons with the charm of Redwall? It doesn't have to be set in that time period, and action is preferred over SOL. I just want cute animals living their lives and maybe having adventures.

Have you read Tailchaser's Song? It's an adventure story with cats, and feels kind of like a lighter-hearted, breezier Lord of the Rings.
