Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

What do you guys consider spoilers when you're watching something new or playing something new? Because I swear I must have a different definition or something. I'll say something super super vague to avoid spoilers and a friend will still be like " Hey don't spoil me!" and I'm like " But... I didnt?"

It varies. Some people want to go in completely fresh to something new. Others simply don't want to know the specifics of who killed dumbledore, or who's luke's father.

I'd consider major plot details or the twist at the end a spoiler.

But I know what you mean, I've known people who freak out at trailers because they think they're spoilers, or flip their shit because someone mentioned that character X was in the next installment of the series where character X is the main character as though it wasn't already completely obvious that they were going to be in it.

People are weird.

it depends on what you put and where you put it. if you're on plurk or something, just put X SPOILERS in the top level and talk about it in the plurk. that way your ass is covered. making anything top level is a guarantee to piss someone off, because some people, like another anon mentioned, prefer to go in as clean as possible. others don't mind vagueries, but hate specifics. if it's in something like this, don't top level something with a spoiler. make an empty header for the subject, then a subheader with SPOILER in the subject box. that gives people a chance to avoid it. it's generally just a good idea to err on the side of caution, since people vary on what they like and even how they deal with spoilers. they might be fine with vagueries on one thing, but want nothing on another.
