Rundown:

rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

It's not a good idea to not let people check the game out first. It's bad enough for sex games but at least then it's something that just comes with the inherently constantly adult premise. No one has given a reason that locking the entire comm is actually of any use so why do it? What exactly are the mods of this game trying to hide by not letting people look at how the game actually goes before they app?

i can think of a few reasons why a comm might want to lock the game. one being smut. two being general 18+ content (which does include violence/drugs/things other than smut). three would be privacy (locked posts aren't allowed to be linked on wg and you can't c/p them). four would be just generally keeping content in for members.

like, hey, good on you if you want to join, but games don't have to have open comms for prospective players. they can have a tdm, which are generally unlocked, and that gives you a test drive if you feel you need one. otherwise, there's no real reason to check out the game other than because you want to. i'm not on medietas and have no intent to join, but i also never actually read the log or network comms before joining. because i'm joining for the game and if i dislike the taken list, that's going to keep me from joining, not the content of the game itself. i'll find that out on my own.

but that's my way of doing things, which doesn't suit everyone. so, for people that need a game open to look at, this isn't the game for them and other than curiosity, there's no legitimate reason for any game to have the comms open.
