I'm an occasional meme poster on bs and I prefer to make my own but I'm running low on what to make. Any ideas?

I thought about a prank or prank war meme but it seems like it'll be ignored.

just to fyi here, as a meme maker and poster, gen memes don't get ignored because they're gen memes. it's usually because they're too niche (desert caravan), or too all encompassing. if it's going to be a niche meme, it needs to be something that all chars can fit into. not everyone's going to have a reason to be in a desert. but maybe they will if they wash up on a desert island. or stuck in a dark room. or something that fits all genres. it's when meme makers make them either too complicated or too confined that they fail.

so hey, do something gen and fun. maybe a water fight. or pillow fight. or stuck in jail. (though, those memes all exist, they just don't get played often). a prank meme might get passed by, but that's likely because pranks are sort of cracky and not everyone wants to go the crack option.

Thanks for your input! I've posted a water fight meme before and that tanked, lol. I love gen and prefer the more encompassing types but even those are tanking lately (example: the support group meme used to reguarly reach captcha; the last time someone posted, it barely cracked 100), so I'm wondering if maybe niche is the way to go, or vice versa.

it's really about timing, too. if you were to post a waterfight meme in the middle of a heatwave over north america, lots of people would tag in. during spring/winter/autumn? not so much. again, i think things like the support group one need specific moods, and lately it's been really smutty all over bs. but as someone that enjoys smut, that's fine, but i'd like the mood to lighten a bit. it's all h/c and sworn to you and bodyguard and bloo bloo so sad. we could do with some lighter/lively memes. it's just a bitch to figure out what any given one might work. you could post something that fails one week, but if you'd posted it two days later, it would have hit captcha. we are a bipolar site.

if you posted a meme that tanked, give it a good few months' break and try again. or maybe post it on another meme community. bs has really gone down the shitter because no one tags anyone back.

Maybe do something with a book title generator and they generate a title of a book or story and now they get to play a scene from a book with that title.

You could then have some prompts for types of scenes, like a fight scene, chase scene, steamy sex scene, etc.

I once suggested a flea market meme and someone else seemed to like it but I don't think it ever got made. Everyone shops for something so the meme should fit all characters and encourage cross canon interaction. There would be sellers and buyers, and maybe thiefs, too.

You could try mashing around some random settings and scenarios from this generator site to see if any could make a really entertaining meme. Might have to spend a lot of time doing weeding so that the meme is not too niche or bizarre, but I've had good success with them.

a cursed item meme. something like the beginning of the cabin in the woods, where people have options for different cursed items and different scenarios the items will put them in.

scenarios can range from typical horror movie shit (stuck in a cabin in the woods, unlocked a gate to hell, woke a killer up from the dead, etc) to fairy tale shit (cursed to sleep, be trapped in a tower, to look like a beast/llama, etc) to more mundane, ridiculous shit (like every gallon of milk they put in their fridge expires instantly or their netflix is doomed to buffer every five minutes no matter how good their net connection is). so, something for the people who want more serious scenarios vs more light-hearted ones.

I've always wanted to do a Get Along Shirt meme (you know, one of these (http://i.imgur.com/QHzKh2o.png) deals?) where two characters who don't get along get stuck together in an indestructible shirt or whatever and either have to hash out their differences or just snipe at each other for awhile. I don't know if it would even appeal to anyone else but I just love it.

i think there was a stuck together meme that included this as an option at some point. i remember one using a picture like that as the header, but it's been a long time since i last saw it.
