Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

If you're lost and need to make sure you're at the right bus stop, sure, okay, I'm the only other person here, you can interrupt me and get that information. But we're not friends and I don't want to chat with you. I answered your question, now go away.

Anons, recommended workout regimes? I have a con in the summer and want to tone up before so I can cosplay without shaming my ancestors. Not a member of a gym, so budget suggestions preferred!

As a heads up, I'd be really down to see a game where conflict is focused in a way that brings characters together, but that's also a smut-oriented game. I tried Eudio but it was a bit too fluff. Tana's got a weird dynamic for me in that I'm not really into the caste split system. The other games I've seen are a bit too small rn with taken pages that haven't seized my attention. I wouldn't mind getting in at the beginning on a scenario/plot structure like the one you were mentioning!

Anon, I can't think of a single game plot that was ever advertised as Enforcers only. Most of the time when the mods mention the Enforcers are involved, it's only in terms of standing guard over things, and they mean NPC Enforcers as much if not more so than the PC ones.

What plots are you thinking of that you've felt excluded from?

Completely agreed!

On the other hand, Tamora Pierce has aged surprisingly well for me, even if her thing for young ladies and old dudes is really not my bag. That was more fantasy than sci-fi, though. I'd have killed for some sci-fi by women authors that didn't age poorly (Anne McCaffrey's pseudo-science comes to mind.)

...to me this just sounds like justification for murder getting restricted. Emp was never marketed as "your character is going to be under suspicion for shit they didn't do and that you as a player can't help".

Swimming regularly is probably going to be your best bet, and there are often half-price nights at local pools/rec centers.

I tried running for a while but found that the complications were tricky (knees not so good.)

I'd google core-toning exercises and find a place to do reps every morning or night. Throw some rest days in there, too. You're going to be squeezing your ass and belly a lot; tends to help.

Don't forget to work on making the diet healthy and sustainable at the same time. I got stupid and started eating like a largo while working out and therefore have not lost a single pound. (Though I haven't gained, either, and most of it seems to be going to muscles, so that's not bad.)

Oh! If you're a little older, working your triceps may help with the arm jiggle. That part is harder to tone ime, for some reason.

there are npc enforcers???? i know there is an npc police force but i thought the enforcers were pc/otherworlders only and a completely separate organization.

Re: da

(Anonymous) 2016-06-20 07:49 pm (UTC)(link)
the NPC police force are called Enforcers that's where the PC version of the group came from with the idea being that Otherworlders were better capable of dealing with other Otherworlders

what do you use for your hair? my mom had ridiculously thick, curly hair and my dad has pinstraight hair, so I got cursed with something in-between that just likes to puff up and frizz. i am always looking for new taming products.

Except that in real life, it isn't the police's job to prevent murder in such a direct sense either? The existence of police is supposed to deter murder because hey, if you get caught, there will be consequences. So please, explain to me how the Otherworlder Enforcers 'let murder happen on their watch' when there was no way for anyone to know that a murder would be committed in the first place.

I will agree that perhaps some locals might think racisty thoughts and wonder whether Otherworlders might help Otherworlders by making evidence disappear, but let's not forget that locals can be murderers and help each other out too. Discrimination works both ways.

Sergei's title is literally "Commander of the Enforcers". The Otherworlders just make up a small division (probably VERY small considering population numbers). Edea and Bobby were both interviewed by him and report to him.

Nooooooooooooo no no no no. They have the same name. The PC branch is technically called the Otherworld Enforcers, specifically. There was IC discussion of having a different name entirely for the PCs, but nobody ever came up with anything, so they kept the Enforcers name.

If anything the PCs are only a branch of the native organization. The NPC Sergei Taciyon is the one technically in charge of the whole thing, including the PC commanders. He is the big boss.

I use Aveda's 'Damage Remedy Intensive Restructuring Treatment' after each shower. It's expensive, though, but seemed to help with the frizz of split ends and stuff.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-20 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
omfg thank you everyone that clarified??? i'm a newer player and since enforcers is such a special sounding name i thought that WAS the nickname for the otherworlder's branch.

(Anonymous) 2016-06-20 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
oooh i love their products. i go to an aveda salon because it is one of the few places i found someone who can cut and dry my hair without me looking like a disaster, and their products smell so delicious. i will check this out. thanks!

No problem! I admit I first went to them because they had a school in my city with super cheap prices! Their students did well by me for quite a while, though, so I didn't mind splurging.

A PC organization should not get rewarded with plot relevant postings after the past few months. It's not restricting, it's just not giving them special privileges.

They also placed themselves up as the public faces of the otherworlders, which should have expectations that aren't 'fun and consequence free' attached. I'm tried of seeing enforcers touted as the guys in charge of keeping order but not being forced to face consequences when they can't. This isn't American politics.

You are seriously overestimating how many special privileges and plot relevant postings the Enforcers players have when compared to non-Enforcers. they're close to none.
