Well, tbh I can understand where they are coming from. Even after having the shadow blob thing show up and say stop it, the same cast (or parts of it) decided they want to kill off a member of their group.

It was very vague and that has a lot to do with it. The players have been very active and have coordinated well with each other regardless. If the playerbase didn't adapt so well good chances this event might have failed.

i can't stand dealing with people who desperately require attention/acknowledgement for everything they do. like yeah, sure, i wanna read your fic or whatever, but the fact that you freak out and whine about how "it wasn't worth it to make it" when you don't get a stadium full of accolades makes me kind of hesitant to bother. i don't like feeling as though i need to perform for your satisfaction, or like i'm just doing a job for you instead of pursuing your work for my own enjoyment.

this isn't about anyone in particular. i've known multiple people like this. i wish they could just chill the fuck out.

I used to be one of these shits--sometimes I still am, though I don't say 'it wasn't worth it to make it' out loud or anything, it just gets brain-weaseled away in my own head.

I think it came for me at least from being a single child (sort of spoiled) who used metrics all the time to judge myself (school nerd), so seeing no interest almost immediately kicked some performance anxieties into overdrive. The dumb thing about this particular kind of shittiness is that it involves a specific kind of charisma and patience, not to mention a steady work-flow that allows you to pump out work at a regular pace in order to play the numbers game... and if you're missing any one of those three you can pretty easily crash and burn into the behaviour that you're mentioning, OP. On the other hand the creative force in some people is a strong enough itch that you can't ignore it for long, even if you're not skilled enough or even if you lack some of the fundamental cognitive factors that make a creative work appeal to other people.

tl;dr: those comments often come with being too up your own butt to realize that you need to touch grass between whatever you're working on and the next piece so long as you keep working at a regular basis, because ain't nobody has time for shit venting behaviour, even the people making whatever is getting read. It's a bad habit that doesn't need to be encouraged.

I started playing Morrowind in 2008. I always get to the quest where you have to go do a bunch of dumb tiny shit all across the continent to convince the factions you are Nerevarine and Hortator, and I always say this time I'm going to complete it. Inevitably, something happens and I lose interest. By the time I pick it up again I've completely forgotten what I'm doing and must start over.

thats real easy to ignore though, except for how the mods keep putting things like this as main plots. see kylo ren for example. hes been in every mod post for the past how many months now? and he's played by a mod so I'm more bothered by that than any death count.
