the episode absolutely was meant as a trans metaphor. the creators said as much. so that's not a reach. the episode fumbled the issue pretty badly too, and even otherwise level-headed people noticed it.

the op is flipping their shit, but the issue of it being a shitty episode that badly handled its message about trans issues isn't invented out of the tumblr ether.

when they were writing the episode, the writers did not intend it to be a trans metaphor. the higher ups decided to market it as one though (and i mean, they explicitly advertised it as an episode that "examines gender" and trans issues) to try and cash in on the steven universe crowd, and the result was predictably a total trainwreck.

they can't function. that's why shit like this happens.

Could you write shorter tags (and still give enough substance for others to reply to)? I don't know your current style but just in case you do write "too much", leave out internal thought whenever it's not absolutely necessary. Once you get used to juggling all your threads in a timely manner, you can add more text to your tags.

Tag out instead of making open posts if there's a chance they get flooded with replies.

For a while, have just enough threads to pass AC. Make sure you wrap up older threads before starting new ones.

slack isn't invite only? anyone with a paid account can sign up to the dwrp server with the username @ dreamwidth dot org emails every paid account gets. then once you're there, channels are public and browsable. if you don't have a paid account there is a generic email set up (dwrpslack at gmail maybe?) and the owner of that invites anyone who emails it, zero exclusions, regardless of if they know them.

people can and do create private group channels to chat but as far as I'm aware all the major game channels including maskormenace are totally open and nobody needs an invite, you can just browse them along with the specific canon channels and join whichever your heart pleases.

this might just be sour grapes from a member of team negotiation, but iiiii think im going to be sitting this event out. it's already a flimsy premise when most of the current crew wasn't even there when the planet exploded, and this situation in which our nine days of planning just went out the window for a generic fight log is rubbing me entirely the wrong way. people in our group took this seriously, and everything we tried to do was evidently brushed aside for a handwaved "no matter what you did you failed, now on to the exciting stuff!!!" sort of sentiment.
