Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme. Your unfunny, forced memes also fall under this rule.
Do not treat this comm like your personal therapist. Threads about nonfictional suicide, self injury, rape, and abuse will be deleted. There are better resources out there for you.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.
Shut up about Tumblr. If it's not a discussion about Tumblr RP it will be deleted.

One day, you wake up to find a small package resting beside your head: within is a strange smartphone-like device, the letters C.A.L.L.E.D. etched into the metal panel on the back. If you choose to power it up, you'll find yourself connected to a network of like-minded individuals, representatives of different worlds and universes. Dig deeper and you'll find the [TRANSPORT] function and that's when things really get interesting.

The device comes from a place called The Seven-fold City. It's not so much that it doesn't have another name as that it has a thousand names in a thousand tongues and no one can really agree which one they like. But everyone can at least agree that it's made up of seven smaller cities, so the compromise remains.

The Seven-fold City sits at the border between fiction and reality, its denizens the people who've filled a thousand stories, its landmarks seen in hundreds of tales. Most importantly, that device that you found? Came from here. And it is to the Seven-fold City you will go should you choose to use the transport function.

What is the purpose of these devices? Why did you receive one? Who created them and who is sending them out? All good questions, though some are more easily answered than others...

ABOUT THE GAME
The Calling is a sandbox-type game with bi-weekly mini events, theme areas with everything from romance to comedy to horror, and a play-to-your-intensity-level attitude. Keep it low key, or take over part of the city: the opportunity is there to change and affect the gamespace or just hang out at an amusement park with your crossuniverse buddies. The main theme is heroes and villains, and both are ENTIRELY welcome, not to mention welcome to cause (or prevent!) some mayhem.

We're brand new so the cast list is pretty darn open. APPS are open, a TEST DRIVE MEME is up for anyone interested, and you can follow [plurk.com profile] the_calling_rp for announcements and questions.

and i'm telling you that that is factually incorrect, since there is no way in any measure of any existence that anyone would look at my diet and call me an overeater. you know absolutely nothing of what you're speaking and obviously have no interest in actually learning or figuring anything out since you've decided arbitrarily that fat = overeating. any attempt to prove it will be met with 'sure whatever lmao liar', so i'm done. you'll believe what you want to, which is the not-truth, and i'll know that i'm fat regardless of the fact that i don't overeat.

On the subject of themed towns, maybe a wizard's city or a major religious center (dedicated to various love gods, of course!) would work? Either one could work as a sort of scholarly town, with a major library/university/archive. A wizarding hub could be your Dalaran, your Unseen University, your Hogwarts - it might have things like moving sidewalks and an ever-present threat of being accidentally polymorphed. A religious hub, on the other hand, might range from a town that just happens to have a ton of temples to a city run by priests, and could host huge holiday celebrations or be the go-to place to find a healer.

you might have been allergic to the chemicals in the pad. one of my exes was and ended up switching to a diva cup after her reactions went very south.

(it's gross and horrifying so i don't want to go into detail. let's just say she ended up in hospital.)

i don't just write smut and will have gen cr with people who don't write it. but i like smut in my shipping, so i'll never ship with a ftber. i find it boring.

i don't ever give much thought to the player's sexuality or whatever. people are uncomfortable writing smut for tons of reasons. i don't care about the reasons and don't need to know. i just know what we want out of rp isn't going to mesh.

space exploration sandbox-like game

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 03:01 pm (UTC)(link)
just putting feelers out to see if this sort of thing would be of interest to anyone.

i was thinking of creating a sandbox-like game based in space. there would be a central location where the characters would start out: a large space station (think something like Knowhere from Guardians of the Galaxy) that also serves as a huge city. from there, characters can do anything someone can do in a city, as well as rent/buy/steal/stowaway/whatever on spaceships to travel to other worlds. there would be a number of worlds, both player and mod created; faster than light travel and wormholes would make it possible for characters to travel to these other places fairly quickly.

there would be some mod events and a plot to keep things moving along and give players something to interact with if they choose, but players could also play out sol stuff and ignore the plot. player created plots, locations, aliens, etc would be highly encouraged. there wouldn't be many mod npcs and those that existed would be there solely to provide plot, not to act as characters in their own right.

applications would be minimal, with more focus on samples than personality sections. ac would be low (like one post or 10 comments in a month), though there would be activity rewards to encourage activity and squatting would be discouraged (missing ac would result in a strike, if a player missed ac again during the next month they would be removed from the game).

players would have significant independence to create whatever they wanted and to affect the game setting (life on the station could be improved or diminished, wars could start, planets could be destroyed, etc). example: if you wanted to have your character start a space pirate group and rob other characters' ships, you could do that, you'd just have to coordinate with those players, mod permission would not be required.

characters from all fandoms and age groups would be permitted. no fandom aus, craus, or fictionalized versions of real people would be allowed.

does this sound like it would be interesting or is everybody tired of space games?

team pads. or sometimes nothing, I'm perimenopausal and have a Mirena so they're often super light and I can get away with that.

I used to use tampons when i was younger but I never really liked them much. these days I'm only interested in sticking things up there for fun or medical necessity.

Dear You,

I am slow to anger
But I toe the line
As I reckon with the effects
Of your life on mine
I look back on where I failed
And in every place I checked
The only common thread has been your disrespect
Now you call me amoral
A dangerous disgrace
If you’ve got something to say
Name a time and place
Face to face

I have the honor to be your obedient servant

i bought 2 plant stands from wal-mart. when i got to my car to put them in the trunk, i realized a third i didn't pay for was tangled up and nested in with the other two.

i took it back inside and went up to the greeter, explaining what happened. she insisted i needed to bring my receipt back in and go stand in the long customer service line for the "return."

i tried to explain to her three times that it wasn't a return, because i didn't buy it. finally i told her i'd go get my receipt. i left her with the plant stand and drove off because like hell was i going to wait in line 30 minutes for a "return" on something i didn't even buy.

if it ever happens again, i'm just keeping whatever i wind up with and calling it their stupidity tax.

yes, by all means drop the cr that you have that you really enjoy for potential cr that you might never have or enjoy nearly as much. this is clearly the logical choice.

Yeah, that's what I was getting at. I don't judge someone if they don't write smut, that's fine. This was them flat out coming into my plurk saying that and adding nothing to the plurk proper.

IF also confirms her talent as "Despair", in the sense of, "she has the ability to do anything, even pushing herself beyond the physical and mental limits of humanity, if it serves the purpose of inflicting despair". But "Analyst" is also a really good catch in explaining her attitude to life.

I think it's best to consider her as being multi-talented, much like Izuru was.

When gay spaces are just about how gay we are and how much gay sex we want, then you'll have a point

Otherwise, yeah, no, I'm all for my asexual friends having spaces where they can reassure each other without anyone butting in that they aren't fucking broken for not feeling sexual attraction

(Anonymous) 2016-05-07 05:49 pm (UTC)(link)
No it shouldn't, so get the fuck out of my LGBT because you're the same people who make arguments that the icky bi people don't belong.

Like literally, the arguments against asexuals are the same exact arguments that people try to use to keep bis out.

i hope that their cat was adopted "off the street" and not fucking killed by their irresponsibility.
