i'm not ignoring the evidence. you're just not actually giving any that's comparable. 'oh, hi, let me compare this meme comm to a new game.' that's not a proper comparison. that's like equating memebells from lj with memebells from dwrp, which never got off the ground and was taken over by bs' activity. if you want comparisons, compare actual things that are like the other.

memebells on lj: 1,278,437 over 1,543 entries. (open from 2011 until last update of 2015)
bakerstreet on dw: 6,222,048 over 12,993 entries. (open from 2011 to now)

that's how you compare something. even back in lj's heyday, memes weren't as much of a thing as they were when the move came to dw. there was a huge period of lots and lots of meme play, but for the most part, we're about at the level lj was around the porting time.

you can also take your condescending attitude and shove it. i've given YOU evidence that you've chosen to ignore because 'whatever, it doesn't count'. it does. you just don't want it to because your way supports your argument of everything dying. What do you do when someone really wants to tag with you but their tags are legit the worst thing you've ever read? I'm talking changing formats/tenses halfway through tags bad. Barely comprehensible bad.

i hate using tumblr terms but this is an excellent example of what they traditionally call moving the goalposts. by the very definition of ljrp as a dead platform and all its games as dead games, it is literally impossible to provide you the exact comparison you seem to be seeking (compare this new game to that new game). memebells i picked because it had roughly the same lifespan as eudio's had so far and roughly the same expectations from its userbase. would you be convinced if i gave you the numbers for an actual game comm like damned (beats eudio)? no, you'd say that's because damned was open longer (see you later goalposts!) what about gargleblasted (beats eudio tremendously)? open longer, "that's not comparable because it's ecats!", etc. (nice to meet you goalposts!) you'll always find an escape hatch because you've chosen your belief

memes weren't a thing back in lj, you're right. that's why i didn't factor memebells into my intial post taking a look at the big rp comms on lj (all drs). that's also why i chose it to compare to eudio, because memes on lj in memebells' day were a lot like sol is to dwrp in general today, not quite a niche interest but definitely not the most popular thing around either. sol's always had its audience but that audience has also never been the majority and eudio's impressive numbers don't make it the majority now. they just make it the largest fish in a small pond

i've based my conclusion around facts. if you have any facts i've ignored, i'd love to hear them. i notice you didn't actually list that "evidence that (I've) chosen to ignore". What evidence? eudio did and does well. the numbers are there. if the dragoncalled mod hadn't gone mia, that game likely would have done not too bad going by the reserves for the first month. your inability to see that there are a lot of people on this site just waiting to flock to a new game is your problem, not mine. why do you think cdc/ryslig/eachdraidh got called 'the big three'. because they all three offered different types of gameplay and opened up with huge numbers. they were monoliths on the site, until they couldn't keep up with the stress of being large games because the makers had thought they'd be opening small games and hadn't prepared for the flood.

I'm interested in playing out some kind of Warden on the run situation with Alistair set during Inquisition. Possibly slightly AU with sneaking around and hiding out while investigating what the rest of the order is up to. I can work with pretty much anyone else on this, canon-mates (including protags), cross-canon or OCs are all good and I'm happy to AU to make things work. Also open to gen or shipping options.

Basically I want sneaky adventures on the run either as a one-off thing or something on-going.

eudio is the game equivalent of tfln. we've already established this. that doesn't make it proof that dwrp is healthy, or in any way as active as ljrp was back in its glory days. as much as i'm sure you love sol and are perfectly satisfied by sol, there is also (and i need you to stay with me on this one) a sizable contigent for whom it is not satisfying. the point i made about memebells and eudio seems to have been lost on you, so i'll say it more clearly for your benefit: eudio is not for everyone, nor is it even for the majority. it is for sol lovers, a not-insignificant percentage of dwrp's population but by no means the majority (or hell, it might be the majority NOW, but it wasn't once, nor should it be). as for your point about cdc/ryslig/each, they all collapsed or are in the process of collapsing due to being wankpits. their size alone isn't an excuse, none of them is or was larger than the supergiant games of yesteryear even at their peak
