I've recently started hanging out with a guy I've known for quite some time and it's clearly hanging out with intention to see where things go. We met when he was dating my friend about 3 years ago (they were pretty serious, had bought a house together) but then she cheated on him and they broke up (this occurred shortly after I had met him). She moved far away not long after they broke up and I haven't talked to her since but I have seen him around over the years. She's happily with someone new now, I know that. I'm curious what your guys' thoughts are on the situation. I'm going to continue seeing where things go regardless but would you consider what I'm doing wrong?

i've done this before, played it privately, and we put an "inspired by" link to the fic in our post as reference to ourselves for the future. i wouldn't bother with asking the author or anything if you're keeping it private. nobody cares enough to run and tattle on you, anon.
