I'd play from the FAR era of Evangelion--before they were turned into Seeds of Life. I'd play Adam. I'd want to play with both Lilith and Eve. Yes, and Eve. It's suggested in ANIMA and so forth that Shinji is actually a FAR-type being. "Eve" has been mentioned there in relation to him, so why the fuck not?

I'm not playing it right now because I haven't found a Rei or a Shinji player who'd want to do it. I don't know of anyone who thinks about the FAR era as much as I do.

that's a fascinating concept but would any of those beings even be recognizable as Shinji or Rei? ...or even have remotely humanoid thought processes?

of course they'd be recognizable. they'd have to be, or else playing this prequel would be pointless.

FAR was an undeniably humanoid species, though. i'm sure they were a shocking amount like humans if the fruit of life gave birth to humans.

listen: you could make up all sorts of stuff. you could say the fruit of life and fruit of knowledge were literal objects or essences that only the upper echelons of society had control over. (in NGE2, another FAR tells Kaworu that his soul "ate too much" of the fruit of life and "forgot the past.") maybe everyone else had to deal with scraps, etc. civil war breaks out. shit goes to hell in a handbasket. FAR realizes they're just going to kill themselves. they enact a plan to carry on their legacy, but without fruit/knowledge coming together again.

then adam, lilith, eve, and the others were chosen through potentially shady means to become the seeds of life. it could eerily pattern evangelion and the chosen children, too. who the fuck knows. it's a total unknown. it's fucking glorious.

that should be "without life/knowledge coming together"

more than that, lilith gave birth to ALL LIFE ON EARTH, not just humans

i know they didn't. i know 'lilin' refers to all life on earth. but if you have a hyper-intelligent race of people, they most likely resemble humans more so than they resemble snails.

it's science fiction! more than that, it's roleplay! fudge some numbers and have fun with it. that's the point. anno isn't gonna be breathing down my neck about whether nor i'm depicting FAR perfectly. i'm not beholden to anyone. so much is unknown, making it a great blank canvas.

also, this is why i don't even like to discuss this idea with people. people feel completely bound by the canon or something. it could be a lot of fun, though. so much world building. so much creativity. i'll keep looking regardless.

further, i'll add that i wouldn't even mind playing somewhat eldritch abomination-y FAR. tentacles and colors and geometric shapes and whatever. who gives a fuck. i'd just want them to resemble their Eva selves.

you're being super defensive about this. I wasn't trying to out eva geek you or anything, and honestly the most obvious response to my questions would be 'it would make rping less of a pain'

but I hope you do find someone who wants to try it out, I still haven't gotten over my hurdles towards finally rping evangelion
