Always hurts when you realize you're being replaced. I know better than to hang my self-esteem on something like RP, but it still stings. Especially when you thought your partner was a friend and not just in it for the RP.

Time to move on! I just needed a second to be sad.

In general, how do all of you stop feeling down about something like this? Being replaced, whether it be in RP or, worse, in RL?

it really sucks when your psl partner doesn't want to play certain characters/ships anymore because idk maybe they're grew out of it. i keep trying to throw hints about what i want, saying it outright 'i want to play this,' but i can never hook them. they're literally the only person i can play these things with it because they involve ocs. i've given up bringing up the matter and it's just a bit of a downer since we used to play these characters all the time a few years back.

it does suck but if you've said it plainly and they haven't responded (not even with an 'oh I'd like to when [life thing] gives me the time/brain again) then it's over

sometimes muses die on people, and it sounds like you had a good run

also I guarantee you they are aware of and uncomfortable with all your hints asking for something they aren't able or willing or interested in doing anymore, and it's making them feel guilty and want to talk to you less about anything

stop pressuring them, cherish the memories, and find new things you get joy out of playing, with them or others, and at least you won't scuttle the friendship

I've been told by a couple people they don't wish to have CR with me, but because they are both apart of a cast that one of my characters has been having CR with (it's got four other members), it might make any CR with the rest of the cast awkward/tricky.

Should I cut my losses and not have anymore CR with the rest of that cast? How should I approach them without causing unnecessary wank?

So I play a teenaged werewolf, or a teenaged vampire (Peter and Roman from Hemlock Grove, though being canonblind is 100% fine with me) and I'm looking for a few people to work up some meme threads or PSLs with. I like adventure, romance, smut, h/c, horror, fluff, a little angst... I'm pretty easy in term of themes and such things.

NON-CANON: I'm interested in anyone from a supernatural-flavored canon, or even anyone that would be interested in tossing their muses into a situation where werewolves and such are, in fact, real. Supernatural, Teen Wolf, Vampire Diaries, just to name a few. I'm open to Live-Action, Anime, Comics, as well as Originals.


CASTMATES: Seriously, if you play from this canon, I want to play with you. I'm iffy on season two, but more than willing to talk stuff out to make things work, no matter the canon point. AUs are also awesome. I don't ship with everyone in the series, but I will happily play with anyone from the series. I'm more than willing to talk out ship preferences, if that's a concern and generally like to do so before shippy stuff anyway. I use a blended mix of novel and series canon as my default, but I'm willing to negotiate!

human is forced for whatever reason to carry a monster's eggs (after they're laid inside or biologically impossibly fertilized, i don't care) and forced to lay them. i want to play the process of someone being uncomfortably full of eggs, so mild stomach distention would be included. possibly afterwards a friend or lover helps them through the process of laying eggs. i can play either the monster+friend or he dude getting filled up; crosscanon, AUs, OCs all okay.

to any anons with anxiety: do you ever feel like you have some difficulty roleplaying? i'm a recovering agoraphobe with severe anxiety, and i more times than not second-guess everything i do when it comes to roleplay related things. my replies, my writing style, whether or not im writing too much or too little, my portrayal of my characters... i end up worrying over every little thing.

when people don't reply to me or my top-levels get no comments (which happens very rarely, but even so) i start to feel hopeless and severely anxious. i'm taking medication for it and it does help, but sometimes i feel like quitting because it's like i spend more time worrying than i do having fun. i don't want to leave this hobby because i love writing and getting to play with other people, but it sometimes becomes painful for me. i know logically i'm being silly, but...

nobody on here knows i struggle with agoraphobia/anxiety on top of some other stuff, either. i don't know... i don't want to seem like a tittybaby and i'm not searching for buttpats, but i just wanted to know if anyone felt the same as me sometimes? it'd be nice to know i'm not the only one stressing over what's supposed to be a fun hobby, haha!

i feel like this sometimes, and i think it's probably pretty common among people with anxiety, so don't let it get you down too much, anon!

and i don't know if you're looking for advice of any kind, but it might help to find a friend to do memes with, or to fish around the rp with me thread here and try to find someone there, if you feel anxious because you're not getting any responses. for plotting posts in games, you could ping a friend/castmate/player you have CR with and ask them personally if they'd like to do something, instead of just tossing up a top-level, too. also try to keep in mind that if someone plays with you, it's because they like your portrayal of your character, your writing style, or your replies (or all of those things) so you'll probably just fine.

If you want to put up an ATP ad for a certain canon in your game, but one of the characters you want to play with is very obviously idling out and won't be removed until after ATP, do you list them as "taken" or "wanted"?

If you are a mod, don't say anything. Unfortunately mods need to present without bias of any kind.

As a player you might have slightly more leeway to say something like, "we currently have X, but if the spot opens up we would love to have you, please keep an eye on us!"

Idk it's a tricky situation where it's easy to come across as rude and presumptuous speaking for someone else, but as a player I'd be interested to know if that's the situation, since I've also been on the end of "ugh flakey idling castmate/close CR I wish I had a new one..."

this has prob been asked a dozen times before but

how do you deal with writer's block with your character? i feel like i'm having this with one of my characters at the moment. it's a character i've in no way lost interest in and i haven't lost the actual drive to play them, but i feel stuck with their 'voice' and with writing them at the moment. their "voice" used to come so easily to me but almost every tag has been a struggle lately.

any anons who have experienced similar with your character/s, how did you get past this block?

Natural insect repellents?

Hey anons, have any of you used natural bug repellents? I have a bird and I want to stop using the local bug man and start making my house more bird-friendly. The two current repellents I've looked at that actual bird owners I know have used are Orange Guard and Control Aviary and Cage Bug Spray. Have any of you used Orange Guard? How did you find it? I've read it's very hit and miss with ants, but those are easily prevented by keeping the house clean. If you have any other natural repellents you like, please list them.
