Does my cardigan look okay?

Rundown: [community profile] rpanons is an anonymous community for role-play related topics. This place serves as a forum for game discussions, canon discussions, RP solicitations (ATP, game ads, open memes), and advice. The occasional off topic comment is inevitable, but please keep heated social and political topics to their respective communities. Posting them here will only get them frozen. Subsequent threads made to bypass a freeze will then be deleted.

Rules:

Do not post pornographic or shocking images.
Do not share private entries, plurks, chat logs, etc.
Do not use this community as your social/political/hatespeech soapbox.
Do not be redundant. One page does not need three or more threads on one topic/theme.
Do not treat this comm like your personal Plurk or Twitter. Off-topic happens, but it should be open for discussion and not just a play-by-play of your life. No one cares.

If you want to put up an ATP ad for a certain canon in your game, but one of the characters you want to play with is very obviously idling out and won't be removed until after ATP, do you list them as "taken" or "wanted"?

If you are a mod, don't say anything. Unfortunately mods need to present without bias of any kind.

As a player you might have slightly more leeway to say something like, "we currently have X, but if the spot opens up we would love to have you, please keep an eye on us!"

Idk it's a tricky situation where it's easy to come across as rude and presumptuous speaking for someone else, but as a player I'd be interested to know if that's the situation, since I've also been on the end of "ugh flakey idling castmate/close CR I wish I had a new one..."

i'd just ask the player. if they plan on idling and admit it, just say in the ad that so and so is dropping soon

If I was posting as a player I'd just admit that X hasn't been very active and may not make AC. That way you're just setting expectations without assuming that yes they will idle out. Because it is still possible they may scramble to get AC made before dropped so at the very least potential appers who may be interested in playing with an X know that your X is pretty much squatting.
