Always hurts when you realize you're being replaced. I know better than to hang my self-esteem on something like RP, but it still stings. Especially when you thought your partner was a friend and not just in it for the RP.

Time to move on! I just needed a second to be sad.

In general, how do all of you stop feeling down about something like this? Being replaced, whether it be in RP or, worse, in RL?

i just cling to my other friends at times like this, haha. it's okay to ask for buttpats! let them tell you that you're great and they love your ass.

I actually like to reach out and try to make one of my other friends feel good about themselves. Say something nice, drop someone a line if you haven't talked to them in a while but miss them, show gratitude for someone or make someone feel appreciated. Buttpatts are great but I've found that they're nothing compared to this.

aw, sorry about that, nonnie. People drift apart, it's natural but it rarely happens at the same time and that's rough. If I could I'd pass you some of the brownies I just made.

You could reach out to them and try to keep them as friends without the rp. Sometimes it's just a readjustment period. But you should also branch out and find new rp partners/friends to hang with too. It's always good to be reminded people like hanging out with/writing with you.
