OP will start. Anons, I want to play a mother. No preference on media or genre, just a woman who has/had a child. (Preferably not single episode/flashback episode Dead Anime Moms who only exist as shounen protagonist motivation.)

I see your qualifier, but Sachiko Yagami from Death Note. Seriously. She's never used to motivate the protagonist (she's not important enough for that), but she gets fairly screwed over and stands by her man to the end. I love her a lot.

There's already been a lot of great suggestions, but I wanna toss in Mahzer Lee from Bravely Default. Has two children who are important to the game's events, but also puts in a good amount of appearance herself and stays alive for the whole game.

I'd also love to see Ifalnas from FF7, though she is very much Dead Mom. But at least not used as shounen protagonist motivation.

How about giving me some good/decent mecha anime. I really liked Valverave and Gurren Lagann, but it's impossible to find Inuzuka icons and I don't really have a desire to play anyone from GL. I'm sorry. My drill cannot pierce the heavens.

I'm looking for two types, fellow anons!

1) A villain with complex motivations who isn't just in it for chaos. I prefer female characters and would like to play a character who has some storyline outside of how they effect the hero.

2) A dedicated parent or parental figure. Someone who has a good relationship with their kid-- it doesn't need to be perfect and complicated is good, but it'd be nice if they weren't completely neglectful.

I prefer live action and western comics; I don't mind anime and video games but find longer knew harder to get through. But anything goes, really -- I'll try anything once.

Characters who have been through so much traumatic loss in their life that they stopped caring about themselves. Even better if the other characters have no idea until it's too late because the character is good at hiding it (basically, they keep their angst and trauma to themselves). Also bonus points for it leading to a selfless sacrifice to protect a loved one.

1) arrogant/cold/unfriendly male character who either
A. is acting that way due to secret self-esteem issues
B. is trying to hide a ~hidden heart of gold~
or both

2) nonhuman character who doesn't really get human emotions and values, but wants to/is trying to

Weirdly specific I know but are there any characters in existence who are kind of mildly snarky seer types who try to give advice based on what they know about the future and then just roll their eyes when nobody listens to them?

Female character, outgoing and maybe a little flirty, from a canon that has some sort of fantasy or supernatural element. Optional ass-kicking and/or healing ability welcome.

I've wanted one for the longest time but am having real difficulty finding one that inspires me, so I'm open to suggestions for new things or things I haven't thought of!
